The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, Olooye Adegboyega Adegoke, has attributed the inclusion of his name and those of other candidates from his faction on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal to his personal intervention.

He said this in Ibadan on August 18 during a meeting with party stakeholders.

Blackouts: Murray-Bruce writes Tinubu, faults electricity privatisation

Bruce is a former senator and media entrepreneur, who dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2025 for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), citing his conviction of the President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Nigeria privatised its electricity in 2013 under the PDP government led by former President Goodluck Jonathan.

PHOTOS: Alaafin unveils working committee for maiden Oyo empire festival

The Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, has inaugurated working committee to oversee the planning of the maiden Oyo Empire Day Celebration.

The monarch inaugurated the committee on Tuesday while emphasising the need to preserve Yoruba cultural heritage.

The event is scheduled to hold on December 17 in Oyo town.
