Support local businesses like Sullivan Country Store š„°
Hi everyone ā this oneās a bit long, but important.
Weāre not closing the store ā but over the past three days, weāve had some serious conversations wondering if we might have to.
For the past two years, our pattern has been fairly predictable: a slow build from April into spring, then a boom into summer. This year, that didnāt happen. There was no gradual shift out of winter ā and our summer business didnāt pick up until July.
Winters are always tough, but missing those crucial spring months was devastating. To keep going, we sold our truck, personal items, small equipment ā anything we could. We took on predatory loans over the winter just to survive, and now weāre paying the price for those choices.
As many of you know, it took us three years to reopen because of major infrastructure projects, material delays, and more. Weāve faced skyrocketing utility bills, rising costs for goods and kitchen ingredients, and increases across nearly every expense we have.
Through all of this, we remain incredibly grateful ā for our loyal locals, travelers, and vacationers who stop in, say hello, and keep us going. But we need help reaching more people.

Stop in for an apple cider donut and a Terra Nova coffee, breakfast, or dinner
Weāve got big, loud feather flags arriving this week to help catch eyes from Route 9. Later this season, weāll launch dinners-to-go, and weāre even exploring delivery.
For our own self-preservation, weāll be turning off comments on this post ā but if you have questions or want to chat, please come see us in person at the store. Weād love to talk with you.
Thank you for sticking with us through the highs and the lows. Your support is the reason weāre still here. š
