We mark potential campsites, then head out to actually explore them in real life 🏕️ Sometimes it’s gold, sometimes it’s a hard no — but that’s part of the fun.

No gatekeeping, no coordinates handed out. Just the process we’ve used for years to find our own camps. Scout it, explore it, earn it.

We’re kicking off the New Year with a brand-new setup and a frozen winter camp deep in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest ❄️🌲

With icy temps, frosted trees, and a quiet winter landscape all to ourselves, this was the perfect place to break in our new rooftop tent. We set up camp, explore the forest, drink some beers, cook a warm meal, and settle in for a crisp night surrounded by pure PNW winter vibes.

From frozen gear checks to a peaceful sunrise over the towering volcanos, this first adventure of the year reminded us exactly why we love winter camping.

NEW YEAR • NEW SETUP ❄️🏕️

We’re officially breaking in our new rooftop tent, and it couldn’t be a better match for our Tacoma. The Freespirit Recreation Kali King is everything we were looking for—big, spacious, and seriously heavy-duty, built to handle years of adventures in all PNW seasons.

From winter freezes to summer heat, this setup feels rock solid and ready for whatever we throw at it.

This is just the beginning of many nights off-grid, chasing views, and putting this tent to the test across the Pacific Northwest & BEYOND!!

Perched on top of a Central Oregon cinder cone with the Three Sisters towering in the distance — this camp might be one of our favorite views yet. 🌋🏔️

We rolled up, set up camp, and instantly settled into the quiet. From panoramic views of the Three Sisters volcanoes to the surrounding mountain ranges glowing in the afternoon light, it was the perfect spot to just slow down. We took a mid-day nap, cracked a couple beers, and cooked up a simple but perfect camp dinner: ramen and teriyaki chicken.

As the temps dropped, we soaked in the silence by the fire… at least until the propane ran out. Then it was off to the rooftop tent for a peaceful night’s sleep.

Morning delivered an incredible sunrise spilling across the high desert. With warm coffee and a big camp breakfast, we enjoyed every last minute before packing up and heading home.

If you love quiet, views-for-days, and classic Central Oregon vibes — this one’s for you. 🌄🏕️

Our Central Oregon camping trip took an unexpected turn when our drone decided to wage war against a surprise tree. One second we were getting cinematic shots… the next, WHAM — tree branches came outta nowhere and claimed our drone like a trophy. 😂🌲

After a solid mix of laughing and panicking, we spotted a long dead tree nearby and used it as the world’s sketchiest rescue tool. A little poking, prodding, and maybe some cheering later… and boom — the drone was free from its leafy prison. 😅🚁

Just another day of camping, exploring, and occasionally battling nature with questionable tools.

We rolled in, set up, and instantly fell into full-on relaxation mode. A mid-day nap, a couple cold beers, ramen and teriyaki chicken for dinner… simple, quiet, perfect. When the propane fire finally gave out, we climbed into the rooftop tent and slept like rocks.

Morning showed off with an unreal high-desert sunrise. Coffee, a big breakfast, and those endless mountain views made it hard to pack up and leave.

If you’re into peaceful camps and wide-open Oregon views, this one’s for you. 🌄🏕️

Join us as we head deep into Central Oregon in search of the perfect scenic campsite. We spent the afternoon exploring back roads, ridge lines, and hidden pull-offs until we finally found an epic spot right by Castle Rocks — quiet, remote, and surrounded by rugged high desert views.

Once camp was set, it was time to unwind. We cracked a couple of beers, soaked in an amazing sunset, and cooked up a warm dinner of chili and cornbread. After a peaceful night in our Evo 2 rooftop tent, we woke to calm morning light, made breakfast quesadillas, sipped hot coffee, and enjoyed the stillness before packing up and heading toward our next Central Oregon campsite.

Striking out on campsite after campsite had us thinking this trip might be a bust… but Central Oregon had other plans. 😅

We wandered miles of forest roads, checked pullouts, scouted ridges, and kept getting shut down — But then we rolled up on the spot… an absolutely epic campsite sitting right beside Castle Rocks, with wide-open views and that classic high-desert magic. 🏕️🌄

Golden light on the rocks, quiet desert air, and the feeling of finally scoring the perfect place — this one turned into a night we won’t forget.
