It was a terrific outing for the squads with plenty of standout performances.

The final athletic competition of the school year is in the books for Kemmerer High School as the girls and boys track programs competed in Casper over the weekend. It was a terrific outing for the squads with plenty of standout performances.

Day 2 of the Wyoming State Track and Field Championships are in the books with just one final day of competition left in the 2025-26 school year. For the Kemmerer girls and boys track teams they were able to add to their point totals heading into the weekend.

The 1A classification was probably affected the most with poor weather conditions on Day 1 of State Track and Field. The schedule of events was adjusted to add more to Friday and Saturday and the Cokeville athletes only had a handful of events that took place on the opening day of of competition.

Day 1 of the Wyoming State Track & Field Championships in Casper were impacted by less than favorable weather which tends to be an annual rite for Cowboy State athletes. Kemmerer High School athletes had fewer events on Thursday as a result but that didn’t stop the squads from scoring points.

Cokeville High School Senior Addison Barnes joined Duke & Dahl during First Bank of Wyoming Sports Friday to discuss wrapping up her career as a high school athlete with state track this weekend.

Led by a regional championship from hurdler Claire Crosland and a distance title from Brent Erickson, the Kemmerer Rangers turned in a strong showing at the 2A West Regional Track and Field Championships, with both teams finishing second overall behind Thermopolis.
