How famous does a black woman have to be to grace your stage, profile, or conversation????? Are Oprah, Venus and Serena, or Michelle Obama the only ones qualified? Ask yourself why?

Bombarded daily across social media from experts who want to help grow my speaking business. It's disgusting because I know their experience is less than mine and yet they command more $$$ and more opportunity and what they're really selling, is a hope that they might add me to a list.
•
I've never paid to "grow my speaking brand." I went to school for that and have spoken before 60k people at one time. I know many black folk who have though... I dare say we're all still in the same boat." Paying to not be discriminated against is the height of organized crime. It doesn't guarantee bias free opportunities nor will it keep us safe. Also I've yet to come across any industry folks willing to address these issues openly or stand up to the bias and refer black women without getting paid to do so.

The fact that I've said it all before and yet no one is listening, even now is exhausting. I'm just curious to see who will be the change in the speaking industry. So far I don't see it. And if I'm not big time enough to see it, there is NO change!

The next time you think about anything having to do with the current emotional state of POC, their level of frustration, and unwillingness to go back to business as usual...

Consider this:
These are but two cities on opposite sides of America where the well documented tearing down of black communities was done and is regularly unheard of almost like a myth. There are large numbers of brown Americans, who are the descendents of indigenous people of America and kings and queens from Africa who were alive when this happened and are still alive today... As well as the culprets who established and passed on the systems and practices that committed these crimes with the help of law enforcement, corporations, and politicians of both parties.
•
They are not going to tell their children or grandchildren to stand down. POC have tried to play along and now their legacies are being destroyed and murdered yet again by the same people, organizations and institutions.
•
Reading is fundamental. The choice to educate yourself is empowering. Discussing human rights and acknowledging only the kidnap and enslaving of black people from Africa is further doing harm and spreading misinformation.

Happy autism awareness day! 😃I woke up today feeling so blessed to be an autistic, to have a brain that works different from the majority, to be different able and not disabled like the world often makes us feel. I love the feeling a special interest can give me, there is nothing to compare that feeling with. I feel so sorry for neurotypicals for not being able to experience that. The attention to details is truly an asset that we are just born with. The saying: “fall down seven times, stand up eight” got absolutely nothing on the autistics resilience!
