Loyal Dog Waits By The Door For Her Dad To Come Home From The Hospital.

When Katie Snyder sent her dog, Leia, to hang out with her parents in April, she thought it would just be a quick visit. Leia enjoyed the peaceful vibe at Snyder’s parents' place, away from her two dog siblings. But Leia wasn’t the type to snuggle up—she preferred to be independent and relaxed, showing her affection in little ways, like sitting outside the bathroom door or lounging nearby during movie nights.

Everything changed when Snyder’s dad had a health scare. While celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary, he had to be rushed to the hospital because of complications from cancer. Snyder’s mom came home alone, unable to stay with him due to COVID-19 restrictions. That’s when Leia’s loyalty really shined.

Leia stood by the front door all night, her head down, waiting for her dad to come back. Snyder’s mom snapped a heartbreaking photo and sent it to her daughter. “When I saw that picture, I burst into tears,” Snyder shared. “It showed how much Leia truly loved my dad.”

When her dad came home the next day, Leia was thrilled. Noticing their special bond, Snyder decided that Leia would stay with her dad forever. “He is her human now,” Snyder said. Leia’s loyalty is a beautiful reminder of the unconditional love dogs bring into our lives.

Listen up, humans. I paid for my ticket just like everyone else. I have the right to my seat, and I intend to enjoy it. Look at my posture, my elegance. While my human sleeps in a completely awkward position, I sit here, upright and proud, observing the other passengers with my unshakable chihuahua gaze.

I am on a journey, destination… who cares? As long as I’m with him. He fell asleep quickly, probably exhausted from a long day, so I stand watch. I am his loyal companion, always by his side, even when he doesn’t realize it. We go through life together, sometimes in the noise, sometimes in the silence of a train speeding toward an unknown destination.

But one thing is certain: as long as I am with him, I am home. No matter the seat, no matter the journey.

Today felt like a special moment orchestrated by fate. While I was at Starbucks working on some photos, I noticed a veteran accompanied by his service dog. I felt a strong urge to reach out, so I asked if I could treat him to a coffee as a small token of gratitude for his service. He graciously accepted an iced French Vanilla drink. I also picked up a muffin and a gift card for him.
As the rain began to lightly fall, he asked if he could join me at my table since the other seats were occupied. We ended up having a heartfelt conversation where he shared stories from his seven years of service, reflecting on experiences he wishes he could erase from his memory. He mentioned that his dog, Rolo, is currently training to detect IEDs and is scheduled for deployment in about nine months. He expressed his hope of being reunited with Rolo after his tour, although he acknowledged that some dogs, like humans, can experience PTSD and may not return the same.
Originally from California, he's now working with the VA and is set to move to Virginia Beach later this month. We spent about an hour talking about life and various little things, and it turned out to be a truly humbling and uplifting experience that brightened my Monday. I handed him my card and encouraged him to stay in touch if he ever needed anything. Mario, I wish you all the best and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

When I walked into the shelter today, I didn’t know exactly who I was looking for. So many sad eyes, so many lost souls behind those cold bars. And then, there was him. Curled up in a corner, his little body trembling. He didn’t even lift his head when I approached.
The staff told me he had been there for a long time. Too long. A quiet dog, resigned, as if he had accepted that he would never leave. But the moment our eyes met, I knew I couldn’t walk away without him.
On the way home, he sat on the passenger seat, hesitant at first, as if he couldn’t believe this was real. Then, slowly, he moved closer. He rested his head on my arm, his small paws gripping me as if he was afraid I might disappear. He didn’t want to let go. His whole body trembled, but not from fear. It was a mix of relief, gratitude, and pure, raw love.
I felt his warm breath against my skin, his desperate embrace, and I understood. He was thanking me. Not with words, but with this silent hug, this complete trust. As if saying, "Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for giving me a second chance. I will never leave you."
And I whispered softly: "Neither will I."

I've ridden this bus 2 or 3 times with the same driver, and consistently, he brings his dog along, whether he's asleep or awake. On one occasion, a woman became upset, deeming it unsanitary to have a dog on board. In response, the driver became angry and exited, declaring he wouldn't leave the dog alone that day. . . . He considers the dog as his son, so he takes him everywhere with him. ❤️💕

I am absolutely heart broken. Last night my finace and I had to put down our lab. His name was Ash. I found Ash about 8 years ago, roaming around a neighborhood. I pulled over to see if he had a collar on, and he did not. So I opened my truck door, and asked if he wanted in. He jumped right into my truck. I drove the neighborhood for hours trying to find his owners. I posted him all over Social media, and no one ever claimed him. He also wasn’t chipped. So I decided to keep him. I noticed immediately he had severe separation anxiety. My ex and I lived in an apt at the time, and one day our neighbors offered to watch him for us while we worked because he would whine so much. I made a promise to him that day that I would never leave him, and I would be there with him until the end. Well apparently the last 8 years flew by, and the end abruptly came last night. Yesterday morning he was playing fetch, running around, being happy as could be. By 9:45pm he was couldn’t walk, and was very lathargic. We rushed him to the emergency Vet. A tumor was surrounding his heart, and it tore open causing him bleed internally and putting pressure on his heart. They said these things are extremely hard to find, and it’s almost always too late. I still feel in such shock. He was the best friend I ever had. He was there by my side through me losing my house, my business, my divorce, and pretty much having to start my life over. He will always mean the world to me. I love you Ashy boy ❤️
