🪷One of the unexpected highlights of our Alaska cruise on Star Princess was an evening at Butchart Gardens in Victoria. We booked it as a shore excursion through so we knew we’d be back in time.

They have a gift shop, restaurant, cafe & tea experience, too.

Photos don’t quite capture how peaceful it feels to wander through these gardens as the sun starts to set. Between the flowers, winding paths, fountains, and glowing lights, it felt like stepping into a storybook.

If your cruise stops in Victoria, BC and you’re looking for something beautiful, relaxing, and easy to do in a few hours, this is one excursion I’d happily recommend.

When I say Junior suffered from dry skin and lips in Alaska, that is an understatement.
Cold air
Chlorine (yep, we swam and hot tubbed)
Wind....
It all adds up.
This stuff was a LIFESAVER for sure, and now I have three in my purse, car, and travel bag.

🥂Day 6 on Star Princess was all about LUXURY!.

We were invited to spend the day at The Sanctuary Club, Princess Cruises’ adults-focused retreat featuring a private pool area, comfortable loungers with posh blankets for the Alaska season, attentive service, and a relaxed atmosphere that’s perfect for unwinding at sea.

Between the surprisingly warm weather, seafood chowder, poolside snacks, and plenty of time floating in the pool, it felt more like a tropical getaway than our final day sailing back toward Seattle. And it TRULY makes me want to book a Sanctuary Collection cabin with my family sometime!

We even took a turn at axe throwing (think darts, but with tiny axes!), which turned out to be way more fun than expected.

That evening, we headed to Makoto Ocean, the ship’s new sushi restaurant, for dinner. The fresh sushi and beautiful presentation made it a memorable meal and a perfect choice for our last night at sea.

After dinner, we caught Illuminate, Star Princess’ brand-new production show. The high-energy performance combines music, dance, a circus theme, MODERN music, and cutting-edge technology to create an “fun for all ages” entertainment experience in the arena, Star Princess’ theatre in the round.

One warm, sunny sea day was the perfect way to wrap up an incredible week aboard Star Princess. Tomorrow: our last day & Victoria BC. ❤️

Day 5 on Star Princess in Skagway, Alaska was all about trading scenic views for a little adrenaline. 🚢🌲

Instead of our usual ride on the White Pass Railway (which we love), we decided to try something different in Skagway and headed out to Grizzly Falls Ziplining- an excursion through - and I’m so glad we got to see this side of Skagway!

After a beautiful 35-minute drive to adventure camp in Dyea (pronounced die-EE), we were soaring through the trees with some pretty incredible views along the way, chatting and laughing with who hosts a podcast all about travel credits cards and points.

🍷 Back on board, our group enjoyed the Frescobaldi wine pairing dinner at Sabatini’s, followed by White Night festivities around the ship. We caught some lively entertainment in the Atrium before ending the evening with a beautiful candlelight concert in The Dome.
