cash in your pocket that can go towards a home/car repair, existing debt or nice vacation. Couponing requires patience, planning and practice. There are many layers to couponing...coupon policies, the logistics of coupons, calculations of savings, what to buy & how many to buy....
I also emphasize to be realistic with your coupons. Don't buy it because it's a great deal....buy it because you and your family use it AND it's a good deal.

I buy things that my family uses.
"Conscious Couponing" is a term I use often that shares the idea of buying only items on sale that you and the household uses.
You actually waste money buying items that you and your family normally don't use. Just because it's a great deal doesn't mean it's worth it. From experience, I have bought items that were a great deal but literally worthless to us. It just sits in my stockpile and goes bad/expires.
