Yesterday morning's cloud cover was sparse enough for a satellite to capture this snapshot of the Morril Fire burn scar on the tri-county line north of Lake McConaughy. Take a closer look at it here: https://morrillfire.thesilonews.com/

It's been enhanced to show the scar more clearly in shades of red.

Latest numbers put the burn area at more than 700,000 acres; 18% contained.
