I just want to say something...
I've been told my pricing is too expensive for the number of copies I print.
I've been told I should get a different job because I'm "not sales-y enough."
And honestly? Maybe they're right about one thing.
I'm not a salesperson.
I'm not going to pressure you into advertising if it's not right for you. I won't use sales tactics or psychology tricks to convince you to spend money you don't want to spend. I won't chase you down or make you feel guilty for saying no.
Because that's never been the point.
The truth is, I love what I do.
I love gathering information that helps people discover what's around them. I love highlighting local businesses. I love creating something that connects our community and gives people a reason to learn more about the place they call home.
The Kingman Business Directory isn't just a product to meโit's a project built with genuine care for this community.
And if I'm being honest, there are times when I don't always feel like I'm a part of this community myself. Sometimes Kingman can feel cold and unwelcoming, and that can be hard.
But that's also part of why I keep doing this.
Because I want to help change that.
I want to be happy and welcome in my communityโmy home. I want others to feel connected, seen, and included too. If this directory can help someone discover a local business, strike up a conversation, attend an event, or simply feel a little more rooted here, then it's worth it to me.
Will everyone see the value in it? No.
Will everyone agree with how I do things? Probably not.
But I'll keep doing it anyway.
Because I believe local businesses deserve to be seen.
I believe our community deserves a resource that's more than just a stack of ads.
And I believe that doing business with honesty, without pressure, is still enough.
So no, I won't push you to purchase something you don't want.
But I will continue doing the thing I love doing: putting together information for the community, creating something I'm proud to share, and tryingโin my own small wayโto help make Kingman feel a little warmer and more welcoming.
And if that resonates with you, thank you so much for reading and for staying with me through this journey. Your support, time, and presence here mean more than I can say, and I'm truly grateful to have you along for the ride. ๐ซถ
