11 years ago today, I woke up in jail looking like the man on the left. Today, the guy on the right is living a much better life.
For years, I had to pay my penance to God and my debt to society. I was fortunate enough to have my mother and my friends in my corner to help me fight back.
I was gifted the opportunity to become part of Lackawanna County Treatment Court and work that program, which allowed me to get my charges dismissed and expunged. People told me it was a trap. I felt like I was already trapped and had nowhere else to go anyway. They only said that because they weren’t ready to become better people.
I am public with my recovery and the issues I used to deal with because some people need to hear that they are not alone with their demons. And now, it’s time to talk about it even more.
On my Food Fight Podcast, I do episodes titled Fight for Life. We are now bringing Fight for Life to a whole new level.
My partner, Frank, and I will be starting a new podcast focused on recovery from all types of situations in life—whether it be addiction, health, mental illness, business, or everything in between.
Keep your ears and your eyes open for the “Almost Tapped Out Podcast” coming soon in September for National Recovery Month.
Fight for Life stories to help the ones who need to hear them. 👊
This page will be the home of the Almost Tapped Out Podcast. While recovery from addiction will certainly be a major focus, this platform is about much more than that. We’ll be sharing stories of people who fought their way through adversity, setbacks, health struggles, mental health challenges, business failures, personal loss, and everything in between. If you’ve ever felt like giving up but found a way to keep moving forward, this is a place for you. We’re just getting started, and there’s a lot more content on the way.
