Your book can’t reach readers who can’t find it.

One of the most overlooked parts of book marketing is keyword strategy.

Keywords are the bridge between what your ideal reader is searching for and what your book offers.

When the right keywords are used strategically, they can help your book become more relevant to searches and improve its chances of being discovered by readers who are already looking for books like yours.

Think about the journey:

SEARCH → A reader searches for a topic, problem, solution, or story.

DISCOVERY → Your book appears among relevant results.

CLICK → Your title, cover, and positioning earn their attention.

CONSIDERATION → They explore your description, reviews, and book details.

TRUST → Your positioning and social proof build confidence.

PURCHASE → The reader decides your book is worth their time and money.

The goal isn't simply to choose popular keywords.

The goal is to identify relevant keywords that connect your book with the right readers.

Key takeaway:

Good keywords can increase visibility. The right keywords can improve relevance.

Question for the community:
Do you know which keywords your ideal readers are using to search for books like yours?

Your book description is not just information about your book. It is a sales tool.

A reader may discover your book because of the cover, title, keyword, or recommendation but the book description often helps determine whether they keep reading or move on.

A strong description should answer one important question:

“Why should I read this book?”

Use this simple 5-part formula:

1. HOOK
Grab attention immediately and create curiosity.

2. PROBLEM
Show that you understand the reader’s challenge, desire, or situation.

3. PROMISE
Communicate the transformation, experience, solution, or value the book offers.

4. PROOF
Build confidence through credibility, expertise, results, reviews, or relevant authority.

5. CALL TO ACTION
Make the next step clear and simple.

Your description shouldn't simply tell readers what your book contains.

It should help them understand why the book matters to them.

Question for the community:
When you look at your current book description, which part needs the most improvement Hook, Problem, Promise, Proof, or Call to Action?

Posting “My book is out!” is not a book marketing strategy.

It’s an announcement.

Real book marketing is about creating a reader journey that moves the right people from awareness to interest, trust, and action.

Here’s the difference:

JUST POSTING

Focuses mainly on your book
Speaks broadly to everyone
Happens whenever you remember
Asks people to “buy my book”
Measures likes and views
Depends on short-term attention

STRATEGIC MARKETING

Focuses on your ideal reader
Uses a clear message and positioning
Follows a consistent plan
Builds relationships and trust
Provides value before asking for the sale
Creates long-term visibility and readership

The goal isn't to post everywhere.

The goal is to reach the right readers with the right message through the right channels.

Before your next promotional post, ask:

“Why would my ideal reader care about this?”

If you can answer that clearly, you're already thinking more strategically.

Question for the community:
What's one thing you usually do when promoting your book that you suspect isn't working as well as it should?

Your book is not your entire author brand.

One of the biggest mistakes authors make is building all their visibility around a single book.

Your book is important but you are the platform behind the book.

A strong author brand connects five key elements:

1. YOU — The Foundation
Your story, values, personality, experience, and perspective.

2. YOUR EXPERTISE — The Value
What you know, teach, and help people accomplish.

3. YOUR BOOK — The Vehicle
Your book communicates your ideas and gives readers a way to experience your expertise.

4. YOUR AUDIENCE — The Relationship
The people who need your message, insights, stories, or solutions.

5. YOUR AUTHORITY — The Impact
The trust and recognition you build through consistent visibility and valuable content.

When these elements work together, your book becomes more than a product.

It becomes a gateway to your personal brand, opportunities, speaking engagements, partnerships, clients, and long-term influence.

Key question:
If someone discovers your book today, what will they discover about you tomorrow?

Your book can be on Amazon and still be difficult for readers to discover.

Amazon has millions of books competing for attention. Simply publishing your book isn’t enough.

Your Amazon discoverability depends on how effectively your book is positioned for the readers who are already searching for what you offer.

Here are 5 areas authors should pay attention to:

1. The right keywords
Use relevant search terms that reflect what your ideal readers are actually looking for.

2. Accurate categories
The right categories help position your book in front of more relevant readers.

3. A strong title & subtitle
Your title should communicate the book clearly while supporting discoverability.

4. A compelling book description
Once readers find your book, your description needs to give them a reason to keep reading.

5. Reviews & ratings
Social proof can strengthen reader confidence and influence purchasing decisions.

The goal isn’t simply to get your book listed on Amazon.

The goal is to make it easier for the right readers to discover, understand, trust, and choose it.

Question for the community:
Which of these 5 areas do you think authors struggle with most?

Keywords • Categories • Title • Description • Reviews

What if the greatest threat isn’t coming from outside… but from within?

A secret alien project.
A damaged artifact.
A saboteur hiding in plain sight.

In Sabotage: The Enemy Within, Alix Calloway thought life inside the Halcyon Galleria couldn't get any stranger.

She was wrong.

Beneath the ordinary surface of the mall, a hidden research team is working with technology that should not exist. Then a critical alien component fails.

Kirk believes it wasn't an accident.

It was sabotage.

As Alix and Kirk search for the truth, every answer creates another question:

Who had access?
Who had the motive?
And how much can Alix trust the people around her?

Readers are already calling it an engaging sci-fi mystery filled with uncertainty, secrets, conspiracies, and unexpected developments.

★★★★★ “The story continually makes you question motives, loyalties, and what is actually happening beneath the surface.”

If you enjoy science fiction, mystery, conspiracies, futuristic technology, secrets, and suspense, Sabotage deserves a place on your reading list.

Enter the Halcyon Galleria. The enemy may already be inside.

Your book may not have a quality problem. It may have a visibility problem.

Thousands of good books are published every day. The challenge is that being a good book doesn't automatically make it discoverable.

Before investing more money in ads or promotion, ask yourself:

Can my ideal reader…
→ Find my book?
→ Notice it?
→ Understand why it matters?
→ Trust the author?
→ Take action?

That's the Book Visibility Journey.

A strong marketing strategy moves readers from discovery → attention → interest → trust → action.

If one stage is weak, potential readers can disappear before they ever buy your book.

Question for the community:
Where do you think most authors lose potential readers — discoverability, attention, interest, trust, or conversion?
