This was the bear moment we’ll probably remember the most.

We were riding through Cades Cove for my Father’s Day bear hunt, and this bear crossed right in front of us.

We stayed safely in the truck, gave it space, and just enjoyed one of those moments you can’t plan.

The kids knew I was loving every second of it.

My kids know exactly what kind of Father’s Day I love.

They took me on a bear hunt through Cades Cove.

Not a real hunt — our kind of bear hunt.

Riding the loop, looking for wildlife, playing in the creek, eating ice cream, and spending the day outside together.

We hoped to see one bear.

We saw ten.

One even crossed the road right in front of us.

The bears were awesome, but the best part was knowing my kids wanted to give me a day full of the things I love.

That is a Father’s Day I’ll remember for a long time.

Rilyn and I found what we thought were blackberries on the trail.

Then I tasted one and knew right away.

Wild raspberries.

I had not eaten one in almost 40 years, and Rilyn said they were good.

These little outdoor moments are exactly why I love doing Survivin With Rilyn.

Before your child goes hiking, teach them this.

Poison ivy and poison oak are two things every outdoor family should learn to recognize.

It does not have to be scary or complicated. Just a simple trail lesson, learned step by step, with Dad right there.

That is what Survivin With Rilyn is all about — real outdoor skills, father-daughter adventure, and building confidence outside one lesson at a time.
