GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK TO RESUME FULL OPERATIONS - Saturday morning, October 4

Sevier County, Tennessee (October 3, 2025) – The Great Smoky Mountains National Park will resume full operations beginning Saturday morning, October 4, despite the federal government shutdown. This effort is made possible through a partnership among local and state governments including Sevier County; the cities of Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Pittman Center; Cocke County; Blount County; the State of Tennessee and the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development; as well as the Friends of the Smokies and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. A great team effort by so many folks to ensure our Great Smokies are open for residents and visitors during the important fall season.
