We are so honored to share a monthly article written by our partners at PYA Waltman Capital. Their thoughtful work in our community helps to make sure their clients’
financial future is on firm footing.

From chicken coops to financial planning, Eric Foster, CFP®, CPA, draws a clever connection between building a home for his family’s hens and building a strong
investment strategy. Just like the unpredictable nature of chickens and their coop door, investing can be tricky without following a few key rules: avoid unnecessary risks, have a plan, and don’t panic over short-term changes.

These fascinating side-by-side images from the late 19th and early 20th centuries created early 3D photography experiences—precursors to the beloved View-Master and today’s VR headsets. Explore Knoxville’s history through stereographs of parades,
expositions, and landmarks preserved in the McClung Collection. This article is written in conjunction with the Knoxville History Project. Dawson serves on the KHP board.

We love sharing articles about the goodness in our community. “Moonshot “is a program of goodness and is made possible by a group of local business leaders led by Joe and Jessi Baker.

“Moonshot” is a transformative experiential program for Sevier and Cocke Counties’ high school students who apply as sophomores and are awarded the opportunity to take part in their choice of travel expeditions, cultural and educational programs, or outdoor adventures their junior year.

“Moonshot” facilitates the opportunity for East Tennessee high schoolers to safely push themselves beyond their perceived limits and discover their full potential through unforgettable experiences.

Find the article in our August issue of West Knoxville Lifestyle https://citylifestyle.com/articles/moonshot-expands-students-horizons to be inspired and support the good work of “Mountain Ways” and “Moonshot.” More information
Mountain Ways

Mountain Ways is the parent foundation of Moonshot. Mountain Ways is a 501(c)3
nonprofit organization helping our Appalachian neighbors during times of need, ensuring no one faces hardship alone, and is currently engaged in long-term recovery efforts post-Hurricane Helene.

As July winds down, we want to express how grateful we are to be surrounded by such talented Knoxville artists. Paris Woodhull’s “Knoxville Color Map” graced our July cover, perfectly capturing the spirit of our town and the landmarks that make our community so vibrant.⁣

If you’ve had the good fortune to meet Paris, you know you’ve met one of Knoxville’s most talented and genuinely kind ambassadors. Her hard work shows in the murals that brighten our city. A visit to her shop, Paris Woodhull Illustrations, at 121 S. Gay St., or her website will brighten your day. While there, you might find a painting, poster, earrings, a T-shirt, or even the poster featured on our July cover. Find the full article through the link in our bio. Or by this link West Knoxville Lifestyle

We also want to congratulate Paris Woodhull Illustrations on celebrating 10 years in business. Now that is saying something!⁣

It is a good day for ice cream! Top off your Daycation in Downtown Knoxville with an over-the-top custom-toppings ice cream special from Knoxville’s Cruze Farm. ⁣

The Cruze Farm gang are long-time friends of ours and have one of the many, many special generational local business stories we love to support with curated locally written stories and photography at West Knoxville Lifestyle. Their cover story in October 2024 about how they built an ice cream empire is a great opportunity to find out more about one of the most beloved brands in East Tennessee. ⁣Find it from this link - https://citylifestyle.com/westknoxville/issues/2024-10

Behind every piece of jewelry at Estate House is a story. It all begins with Sam, a sixth-generation jeweler who started making jewelry at just eight years old, learning the craft alongside his family and continuing a tradition that spans generations.

At Estate House, every piece is more than just beautiful—it’s jewelry with meaning and history.

Whether you’re searching for something meaningful, need a trusted repair, or want to explore a thoughtfully curated collection, Estate House is where personal service and generational craftsmanship come together.

Blackberry Farm Master Gardener John Coykendall is our go-to guy at West Knoxville Lifestyle for all things growing green (and yellow, red, purple, yellow, orange, amber, etc).
