This makes me so sad. I rarely talk about it, but I’ve struggled with eating disorders and still struggle with body dysmorphia. Bullying of any kind is wrong, but it’s even worse when someone with a large platform does it publicly. Kindness is free, and the world could always use more of it.
Working on yourself is a big step. You want to be healthy mentally and physically. Christy and I review food on our channel. Food is in the title of the channel.
We review food once a week. Sometimes twice. We do post a lot of restaurants on our social media. We repost a lot. Why? We have friends that we support in the industry and it’s what we do. They are grateful for our support and we are grateful for theirs.
The picture below is a recent one from Mothers Day. We are getting healthier. For us. We are doing it for us. We have been mostly quiet about it. Why? For one, it’s really no one else’s business. Not being mean about it. But we don’t “owe” anyone an explanation about our health. For another, we still have those out there who will make fun of us and claim we aren’t really doing it anyway. It is what it is.
The camera is a glimpse into our lives. It’s not a documentary. We are as real as we can be. You won’t get fake with us. We are who we are.
Mental health leads to better physical health. This is mental health awareness month and we are committed to making sure our mental health is good and we want yours to be too. No one should have to struggle inside their own mind. It’s a very lonely place.
Our creator community in this area is as strong as I can ever remember it being. We have so many friends in this community and we are all committed to helping each other and supporting each other. It’s a beautiful thing really.
Last night, a post was made on social media by a creator most of us know and it was filled with a very fat phobic and borderline racist tone. It was done very non chalant. Christy and I are Christians and we certainly aren’t perfect but this cut us both deeply and we are sure it bothered others as well.
Remember this: you don’t owe anyone anything. You are who you are and being yourself isn’t a flaw. You are loved and we are here for you. May is mental health awareness month but anytime you are struggling with something, we are here for you and we know our other friends in the creator community would be too. ❤️
