Erin and I are so thankful to be expecting our first child in February. This pregnancy has included the most painful and the holiest moments of our marriage. At our 20 week appointment, our baby boy was diagnosed with a Bladder Outlet Obstruction. This compromises a healthy and consistent level of amniotic fluid around baby, which causes obstacles for the healthy development of lungs and kidneys. The second half of our pregnancy has been a fast and steady progression of brilliant, compassionate medical professionals sending us along to the next right step of the journey. From our home team in Knoxville, to our current team at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, we have felt guided by the most qualified and awe-inspiring helpers. These people have been the love of god made manifest to us- as have our precious family and friends. Our team decided about three weeks ago that is was time for us to relocate to Cincinnati, Ohio for the duration of our pregnancy. We miss Knoxville terribly, but we feel supernatural peace- we are where we’re supposed to be. To those that have already stepped in to feed us, hold us up, meet needs we don’t know how to express- your love is healing us and changing us. To our praying people petitioning on our behalf- your prayers are sustaining us. We feel so rich in love, we have not felt alone for a single moment. We are making a place online for loved ones to check in for photos, updates and some processing of our life here in Cincinnati. We’re sending our love and unspeakable gratitude to our circle of helpers. Every text, call, meal and loving thought sent to baby have given us what we need to keep walking down this path. Love, The McCalls ❤️
