Imagine your body creating its own crime scene. The human body is so nutty on so many levels. This is the molecular murder mystery of the Patty Stallings case.

Today I Learned the origins of “silly string” and let’s just say I was not prepared for it to have such a backstory

Very fascinating way to pivot an idea not once but twice. From medical device to children’s toy to active duty tool.

This 3000 year old death ritual helped solve a culture murder mystery

I’m sending a theme here for Spooky Science Series! Comment below what topic you want me to cover next!

I love vultures so much, they get such a bad rap but they are truly amazing creatures and THIS just made me love them 10x more. They are wildlife’s natural historians đŸ„Č

Scientists discovered a 650 year old preserved shoe along with 200 other human artifacts, with some dating back to the Middle Ages đŸ€Ż

These Bearded vultures maintain the same nest for centuries across generations and as a consequence of that, so do the items used to build their nest. The cool dry air of the caves in which they build their nests provide the perfect preservation conditions. It’s incredible. Their nests are like museums in the sky.

I love vultures đŸ„ș

Okay this is next level. Scientists from Oregon Health and Science University created early stage human embryos from human SKIN cells đŸ€ŻđŸ€ŻđŸ€Ż

This is so wild and could be huge for several reasons: if viable this technique could theoretically overcome infertility by using almost any cell in the body as a starting point for life. It could even allow same s*x couples to have a genetically related child

But this technique is very much in its discovery phase and needs significant refinement. This process could take as long as a decade to ensure this is a safe and reliable method for couples to pursue.

Right now the science is exciting and the vision for this technique is beautiful- to help couples conceive who previously couldn’t because of older age, disease, infertility from chemo or from not producing enough s***m.

It would be amazing to see this happen in the future, but for now you can read more about the preliminary results here: “Induction of experimental cell division to generate cells with reduced chromosome ploidy” published in Nature Communications

This is so incredibly fascinating. Ana Paula Martins, through a blood test, discovered that she has XX chromosomes in every cell of her body
except her blood, where she carries XY chromosomes.

She is female through and through: she presents female, has all functioning biologically female body parts, yet only in her blood she has XY chromosomes.

It was a medical mystery to the geneticists who were investigating her case until Martins revealed a crucial detail - she is a twin.

Now Martins is the first reported case of something called spontaneous chimerism, when a person carries two sets of DNA in their body. It is extremely rare and has only been known to happen in a few animal cases.

But the fact that Martins’ body tolerated her brothers DNA in her blood her entire life without her immune system attacking it, could help us better understand transplant medicine cases.

The human body is truly incredible!

Acetaminophen does NOT, I repeat, does NOT cause autism when taken during pregnancy

Let’s do an explainer and read the receipts together. In case y’all forgot the PharmD at the end of my name is for Doctorate of Pharmacy, so I know a thing or two about Tylenol 😉

There are a lot of studies referenced in this video so comment STUDY for a direct link to my newsletter that has all the studies linked & for a more detailed explanation

This is why I love science. Scientists figured out how to store DNA in a cassette tape! Yes you read that right.

This could be the answer to our rapidly growing data storage problem and the way it works is pretty cool.

Scientists in Japan have created the first UNIVERSAL blood (and it’s about time). Here’s why 👇

Only 50% of Americans actually know their blood type and only 7% are O-negative universal blood donors. It’s a problem.

But Japanese scientists have now possibly cracked a decades-old problem: they’ve created artificial blood that works for ANYONE, regardless of blood type. No more dying while waiting for compatible blood.

The breakthrough? They extracted oxygen-carrying hemoglobin from expired donor blood and wrapped it in a protective shell that removes all the stuff that causes blood to be incompatible in the first place.

Human trials started in March 2025 with 16 volunteers with successful results: good oxygen delivery with minimal side effects

Your blood type shouldn’t determine if you survive an emergency. Science is fixing that.

tilscience Scientists have developed a freeze dried artificial blood that can be stored for years and be reconstituted with water to create viable artificial blood within minutes
