Curious what yall think…
I got this full set back in 2022 and it was the first (and only) time I got fake nails. I remember thinking they looked terrible, but wonder if I was just too picky? What are all of your thoughts? I never got them again because after this I thought maybe they just didn’t look good on me? I just stumbled upon this page and I’m so curious all of your thoughts!

Am I being gaslit
I told her these were too lumpy and she said “no, this is just how your nail is”. Which I factually know is not true. Is this a normal amount of lump or am I crazy to be pi**ed??

Okay… I need some help because I feel like I’m doing this right, but this builder gel is NOT budging 😅

I filed the top layer and have soaked my nails in pure acetone for over 30 minutes total, and it’s still just sitting there like this. I’m trying to be gentle because the last time I removed it, my nails ended up super damaged… but now I’m stuck.

Is this normal?? Am I missing a step, or is “soak off” just not as easy as it sounds? Any tips would be seriously appreciated 🙏

Not sure if I’m overreacting or not, so I could really use some advice. I just got these done, and within a few hours they started peeling and cracking like this. The salon said I could come back for a redo, but I’m honestly hesitant after this experience—they seemed really rushed, and now I’m worried the gel wasn’t fully cured.

They’re also refusing a refund and saying darker colors can be tricky, but this feels a bit off to me. Has anyone dealt with something like this before? Would you go back for a fix or push harder for a refund?

What do I do??I've been broke for a month and have lost a couple soldiers before I could afford to go to the salon. These are my nails with acrylic overlay. Usually I visit every 3-3 weeks for a fill. I am wondering if the thumb can be

Saved and if the index finger is too short for a tip. It does not hurt, and there is no blood. It's just sooo short. I am ok with soaking off everything and waiting. Help please!

I’m a nail noob that has questions about the longevity of the manicure I just got today for wedding on Thursday
Hey wonderful people! Like the title says, I am very new to getting my nails done. I’ve never went to nail salon and have not painted my nails in over 10 years, so because of that I’m not sure what is “normal” or “bad” or if my concerns are even valid.

I’m getting married on Thursday, so I splurged today and got a manicure/pedicure. I have no concerns with my pedicure and feel like it is very clean, smooth and defined. BUT I’m concerned about a few things affecting the quality of my fingernails.

I got the manicure done this afternoon (finished at 1:30pm) and now at 2:30pm, I’ve already noticed some bubbles and “ridges” in the white of my manicure. The pictures are also hard to show it, but a lot of my nails have rough polish on the tip, almost like the polish dripped over the edge and it wasn’t wiped in time.

Will these things cause my nail polish to degrade before Thursday? Should I be worried about chipping? Should I get them removed and redone (maybe with gel polish)? I asked her to fix 2 nails at the salon because 1. The French tip was smudged by her and there was a big divot, and 2. On of my thumbs was uneven.

The current nail polish is shellac/lacquer French tip. Thanks in advance!

What are my options?
My daughter accidentally kicked a big chunk of my nail off 😔 I want to get another gel pedicure this week, but not sure what my options are. Do I need to just wait for it to grow? I have no nail knowledge at all, how can this be fixed?

Super damaged sidewalls help
Hi everyone, I know I'm about to get flamed in the comments for this but I bit my nails for 7 years and what helped me stop was gel nails. Unfortunately when I started doing my own gel x up at home I didn't know enough and ruined my sidewalls (they were already destroyed from the years of biting but definitely got worse because I didn't know better and filed them wrong). Naturally my nails flare out a bit and are kind of a shell shape (from the biting I think cause Istarted so young) but they've only been getting worse despite me leaving them alone now. I dont file them anymore but my nails are super weak and break easily naturally. I've gone ages without gel before and they only get weaker, and have always broken easily even before I started gel). Can someone please give me some advice on what to do because I've read what other people have posted and tried that advice too. My cuticles are super dry too and come back very quickly after I remove them and I try use Cuticle oil multiple times daily to keep my nails hydrated, and my hands don't tend to be dry.

Need Help on Retention
Hi there! I’m a nail student right now practicing on family and friends and I’ve been running in an issue of chipping on the free edge 😭

I’ve listed my routine out:

Prep cuticle with cuticle pusher and flame bit.

Buff nail.

Wipe with acetone.

Primer

Base coat

Builder gel

Colored gel

Top coat

Finish file

If you guys have any advice on keeping consistent retention on clients that would be so helpful!
I think right now I have most issues with clients with thinner nails, and clients whose hands come in contact with water often.
