This old girl has definitely been around the block… 😂🌽

This chopper was originally my dad’s, then it was sold to the neighbor, and somehow over the years she made her way back around to Joe. ❤️

A few modifications, a little farmer engineering, and some occasional maintenance later… and she’s STILL out here chugging along and getting the job done. 🙌🏻

She may not be shiny or new, but she’s got some history behind her — and around here, if it still works, you keep her working! 😂💪🏻

They just don’t make ’em like they used to. 🌽🚜

The farm stand is STOCKED this morning with eggs, cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash, peppers and all that homegrown goodness! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

No wondering where it came from… we can literally point to the garden and the coop. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

So swing in and CLEAN. US. OUT. Please. 😂 Because these veggies just keep coming and I’m running out of places to put them! 😳😂

🦋 And that’s a wrap on monarch season! 🦋

This weekend our last monarch hatched… and she was number FOUR that we raised and released this year! 🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️

There’s just something so amazing about watching the whole process—from a teeny tiny caterpillar, to a chrysalis, and finally watching that gorgeous butterfly emerge. 🐛➡️🦋

Four beautiful monarchs sent off into the world from Miller Acres this year. 🥹❤️

Our local farm feed store does a Pet of the Month contest… and of course, I didn’t see it until the MORNING before they were doing the drawing. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂
Figured what the heck and submitted our boy Ribeye. 🐮❤️

They spun the wheel and GUESS WHO IT LANDED ON?!?!

OUR BOY!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

That’s right… Ribeye is officially the Pet of the Month! 😂❤️ From bottle baby to local celebrity — apparently all that cuteness finally paid off!

I mean… are we surprised?! Look at that face. 😍😂Pretty sure the fame is already going to his head. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

Life has been HECTIC this week and, quite frankly, I do NOT have time for this garden right now. 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ But apparently the garden didn’t get the memo because it just keeps producing!

So PLEASE… come buy some amazing, homegrown local produce and don’t let all my hard work go to waste! 😂🙌🏻

The stand is STOCKED with:
🥒 Tons and tons of cucumbers ( even a 25cent basket)
💛 Yellow squash
💚 Zucchini
🍅 And I even have some tomatoes out there!!

Saturday was the day… the meat birds were officially off to freezer camp! 🐓🪓🍗❄️

50 birds processed, packaged, and tucked into the freezer — one step closer to filling our freezer and yours with homegrown goodness. 🙌🏻❤️

Huge shoutout to Joe, who took on butcher, gutter, AND packaging duty. 💪🏻 It was a loooong day that turned into an even longer night, but we got every single one done!

And a little note to spring Suzy:
50 MEAT BIRDS AT ONE TIME IS WAY TOO MANY, SUZY!! 😳🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂
Maybe remember that when those cute little fluffy chicks show up and you think, “Ohhh, 50 isn’t that many…” 🙄😂

There’s just something about raising your own food from start to finish. From those tiny chicks arriving in the mail, to moving them onto grass, feeding and caring for them every single day, and finally putting food in the freezer.

It’s not always glamorous. It’s definitely not always easy. And sometimes it means processing chickens until dark. 😂 But knowing exactly where our food came from and what went into raising it?

Worth every bit of it. ❤️
