Seed planting

Seed depth is one of those little things that can make a big difference 🌱 I’ve learned that planting too deep is an easy way to slow down germination.
📏 Small seeds usually need a lighter touch
🥕 Radish and tomato seeds do better when they are not buried too deep
🌿 Parsley is one I barely cover or just press in
💧 I always water gently so I do not wash the seeds deeper
When seeds struggle, depth is one of the first things I check.

Our trip has been great so far. Today we saw 19 windmills. I have attached a few pictures. On our riverboat cruise through Netherlands we stop at many small provinces. The weather is 30's in morning and a high of 50. Very windy. Will send more pix later.

Toxic chemicals! After my husband was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, research I did showed that toxic chemicals could very well be the cause. I have since been on a mission to reduce these in my home and create a safe, healthy home for my family. Here is one that surprised me: commercial dryer sheets. These are one of the most toxic household products on the market. Many chemicals that affect your health and well-being in serious ways are often used in their production. In addition, they are absorbed into your clothes and then your skin.
Here are two all-natural solutions that I have found are excellent substitutes. I use three high-quality New Zealand wool dryer balls that last for several years. Apply six drops of your favorite essential oil directly to one dryer ball, then let it dry for a few minutes and toss it in the dryer with your clothes. They will separate and bounce your clothes to provide faster drying, a pleasant scent, and softness. If static is an issue, insert a safety pin into one of the balls before drying.
Homemade dryer sheets are another substitute. Use either washcloths or a lightweight fabric, dark for dark clothes and light for whites. Add 20 drops of essential oil to an 8-ounce spray bottle, then fill with distilled water. Shake then spray onto your fabric, and toss it in with your clothes. These do not decrease drying time but will make a lightly scented solution.
New Zealand wool dryer balls are of excellent quality and should last several years. If you would like supplies to make these, my small business, You Can Do-It-Yourself, offers a large variety of excellent-quality Young Living Essential Oils and dryer balls at very reasonable prices with discounted shipping. This is part 2 of the optimal way to take your vitamins and Supplements.
IRON - Avoid tea or coffee near taking iron and calcium. Keep one hour gap before or after.
MAGNESIUM - Best taken at night, one hour before you sleep.
VITAMIN K - Take with meals, especially meals with fat.
OMEGA 3 - Take with lunch or dinner, fatty foods helps it work better.
ZINC - Take two hours away from iron.
PROBIOTICS - Take on an empty stomach, before bed.
COLLAGEN - Early AM or before bed.
If you have any other tips or suggestions about taking vitamins or minerals, or other healthy info, drop it in the comments. Young Living is the brand I like because it is natural and has no added chemicals. If you would like to know more, let me know.

I take a lot of vitamins and supplements, and I usually take them all at once in the AM and PM. I recently read an article about when to take your vitamins, and I realized I was not taking them the way I should. I want to share what I learned to help you boost the effectiveness of your vitamins and supplements. There are several, so I will break this down into two posts.
VITAMIN B/B COMPLEX - Take in AM on an empty stomach. Helps with energy. Avoid taking it at night.
VITAMIN D - Take in the morning after a meal. Absorbs better when taken with healthy fats (milk, nuts, eggs).
CALCIUM - Take in the morning after a meal. Works better when combined with D3 AND K2.
VITAMIN C - Take in the morning or afternoon with or without food.
IRON - Take before meals. Absorption is better on an empty stomach. AVOID taking calcium and iron together as they reduce each other's absorption. Iron works better with VITAMIN C, or lemon or orange juice.
