Continuation of prior post.
Today i got a call from my mom telling me she found a bag full of my "lost" belongings in her closet. She wanted to know why I left them there. I shake my head and wonder what to say. So I say, "I love you mom, have a great day!"

Is your mother still living? Mine is 95 years old and physically in great shape. I spent the last three days in my hometown with her, packing her apartment to move to assisted living. She has no recollection of anything happening in her world. She has dementia. It was a true test of my patience to work with her to pare down her belongings. I know many of you have experienced this with family members.
When it was time to come home, she had hidden my clothes, my personal items, and even my vitamins and eye drops during the night. I was so frustrated and even angry that I could not find them. After a moment, I realized it was all replaceable, but my mother was not. My siblings will take care of getting her moved as planned. Just spending time with her, looking through pictures and memorabilia, was so special. I have so much empathy for all those who have walked this road with family members. May you be blessed.

Is it hot outside where you live? It has already been very hot in Indiana. Here is information about sunscreens that I found helpful.
SPF - Sun protection factor is a measure of how well a product will protect from UVB rays, the main cause of sunburn. SPF does not protect from harmful UVA rays, which can lead to long-term health problems, like skin cancer and wrinkles. SPF numbers higher than 50 offer only marginally better protection from sunburns and may not provide a good balance of protection from other types of sun damage. Be aware, the term "water resistant" is regulated by the FDA. To meet this term, the product protects after being in water for 40 minutes. Reapply sunscreen accordingly.
INGREDIENTS - Look for products with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. Avoid products with oxybenzone. Using a mineral-based product may be more effective.
APPLICATION - Most people do not use enough sunscreen to get the SPF protection listed on the product. Apply at least one ounce of sunscreen per application. Then reapply often after getting wet or sweaty.
I have found the Young Living Mineral Sunscreen Lotion works very well. It is SPF 50, reef safe, and free from harsh chemicals, making it the best healthy sun-exposure solution for the whole family. My summer special price for this sunscreen is $35 plus shipping. It is thick and protects for many applications. After having several sun-caused lesions removed and wrinkles, I am protecting my skin faithfully. My dermatologist also told me to wear a big hat when outside to protect my face and neck from wrinkles and sun damage.

Enjoy your summer safely.

Do you love chocolate chip cookies? I have a great recipe I found several years ago, Very Vanilla Chocolate Chip Cookies. This is a near-perfect cookie, with a little crunch on the edges and a soft, gooey inside. It has a sweet, pure vanilla flavor from the extra vanilla. So why keep it to myself? Here is the recipe:
VERY VANILLA CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
INGREDIENTS:
3 1/4 C. flour
1 t. baking soda
3/4 t. salt
1 1/3 C. butter (I use real butter)
1 1/4 C. granulated sugar
1 C. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
4 t. pure vanilla (or extract)
1 package semi-sweet chocolate chips (I use Ghiradelli's)
1 c. walnuts (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl and set aside. Using an electric mixer, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes). Add eggs one at a time, then add vanilla. Mix well. Gradually beat in the flour mixture on low speed. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts. Drop on ungreased cookie sheets by rounded tablespoons or with an ice cream scoop. Leave room for the cookies to spread a little, about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on the baking sheet for 1 minute, then remove to a wire rack to finish cooling. This recipe makes 3 dozen medium-sized cookies. Beware, you will want to eat them all, they are so yummy.

My husband suffered from lower back pain for years until we went to IU Health Pain Management, Dr. Lloyd, in Lafayette, Indiana. He just had an ablation (burning of the nerves with radio frequency) in his lower back. No pain and done in 20 minutes. He had immediate relief from the pain. Nerves do grow back eventually (6 -24 months), but he will repeat the procedure if needed. I know lots of people suffer from back pain and go to back doctors for surgery that often fails. We highly recommend this procedure with Dr. Lloyd or a reputable pain management doctor in your area.
