🎉 Congratulations to Lafayette Kid News on receiving a $2,000 grant from the Stuller Family Foundation! 📰
Lafayette Kid News is creating a quarterly newspaper written entirely by kids in Lafayette, for kids in Lafayette, ages 7–12. The publication will give young people a fun and creative platform to share their voices, showcase their talents and contribute to their community. ✍️🎨
Each issue will feature kid-created content, including a Kid of the Quarter, puzzles and games, jokes, trivia, local sports and arts highlights, local history, an art gallery and a calendar of family-friendly community activities. By placing kids at the center of the publication, Lafayette Kid News will reflect the creativity, interests and ideas of Lafayette’s youngest citizens. 🌟
In today’s world, where social media, phones and other devices occupy so much of our time, the Stuller Family Foundation is especially proud to invest in projects that challenge young people to slow down, think deeply and create something meaningful. 📚💡
Lafayette Kid News encourages students to write, read, research, interview others, explore their community and develop their own ideas. It turns children from passive consumers of content into active storytellers, artists and community contributors.
The project also fills an important gap by giving children a place to publish their work, celebrate the accomplishments of their peers and build valuable skills in communication, teamwork and leadership. It will help families, schools and community organizations see Lafayette through the eyes of its children. 🤝❤️
Most importantly, Lafayette Kid News shows young people that their ideas and voices matter. The Stuller Family Foundation is proud to support this creative platform and looks forward to seeing Lafayette’s kids share their stories, connect with their community and become the placemakers of tomorrow. 🏡✨

👻 Boo at the Zoo is almost here! 🎃 A little fall. A little Halloween. A whole lot of zoo! This October, Boux, our friendly new ghost, is visiting Zoosiana and he's bringing his wild little ghost friends along to explore the zoo.
