DINOSAUR at Animal Kingdom will close on February 2, 2026, and I genuinely love this ride. It’s far more intense than Indiana Jones Adventure in Disneyland. The bumpy, chaotic ride system paired with the pitch-black darkness is what makes it special—that unpredictability is the thrill. I really hope Disney doesn’t smooth it out or brighten it up, because once you lose that intensity, you lose what made DINOSAUR legendary.

For added context, this isn’t just a retheme. DINOSAUR is being fully replaced by a brand-new attraction, Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Foliated Cross, opening in 2027. It will feature an entirely new story designed specifically for Animal Kingdom—not a copy of Disneyland’s version. The ride will anchor the reimagined land replacing DinoLand U.S.A., which will also include a new attraction inspired by Encanto, with the full area debuting in 2027.

Fingers crossed Disney keeps the darkness, roughness, and high-energy chaos while delivering something fresh—because if they nail that balance, this could truly raise the bar. 🦖🏺🎢

Disney’s Dinosaur ride at Animal Kingdom is officially nearing extinction. The attraction will close for good on February 2, 2026, with February 1, 2026 marking its final day of operation.
