We are so very thrilled to let you know that the time will soon be here for us to open our doors! To celebrate our grand opening, we invite you to Imagine, Sip, See, and Wonder with us on Saturday, March 22.

This VIP adults-only event will showcase the heart and soul of Port Wonder-the Children's Museum of SWLA and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Nature and Science Center.

Guests will be able to tour and interact with exhibits, dine on small bites from Crying Eagle Brewing - Lakefront's new menu, enjoy the musical stylings of the Barbe High Choir's Show Choir, watch the fabulous Re- Christy Blalock live-paint our Gator on the Geaux, and browse our silent auction.

Here we go, Lake Charles! Twin Peaks Restaurants is coming soon to 3131 Contraband Parkway! Known for those “scenic views” and the coldest beer, the new Lake Charles location will be about 8,200 square feet with a 1,200-square-foot covered patio. No dates on when construction will start. But once started, should only take about 6-9 months to complete.

A semi-trailer belonging to Lloyd D. Nabors Demolition, LLC is parked behind the Hertz Tower — formerly the Capital One Tower — as preliminary demolition work on the storm-damaged tower begins. It is estimated the building will come down in late August or early September. Lloyd D. Nabors Demolition is based in Hutchins, Texas. (Donna Price / American Press)
