🌾 Ever wonder how that fluffy Louisiana rice makes it from field to fork? 🌾

Here in the Bayou State, rice farming is a time-honored, multi-step process rooted in tradition and sustainability. From prepping the fields and planting in spring, to managing water levels and harvesting with precision—Louisiana’s unique climate makes it the perfect place to grow this Southern staple. 🌱

Farmers often flood the fields to keep weeds at bay and ensure the rice stays hydrated. After growing tall over 100+ days, the rice is harvested, dried, and milled—eventually becoming the white or brown rice we all know and love.

And today’s growers are going green—using techniques like alternate wetting and drying to save water and boost soil health. 💧🌿
