dear new dads,
breastfeeding burns 300–500 extra calories a day.
that’s the same as

shoveling snow for an hour

hauling a 40lb bin down the stairs 30 times

pushing a manual mower across the yard

raking and bagging leaves for 90 minutes

carrying 25lbs up three flights. again and again.

so if she says she’s tired
she’s not being dramatic.
she’s doing hard, physical, invisible work.
with her body. around the clock.

support her.
thank her.
and please, don’t ask what’s for dinner….
