I love ❤️ that no matter how many times I’ve written about places we’ve been many times like Northfork Fin & Filet in Arbor Vitae, there are always people who are hearing about it for the first time. I highly recommend you check this place out if you haven’t been as they make some fantastic cocktails and there are some very tasty choices on the Appetizers menu like the Walnut Pear Crostini that we both dream about, and the new Spinach Artichoke loaf of bread, I couldn’t find what it’s called exactly, is so unique and excellent, you should consider trying it. The main courses are also fabulous, and this time The Other Chaser was craving a Prime Grade Ribeye with blue cheese on top and a side of mashed sweet potatoes, both were super yummy, and my favorite entree since I was introduced to it is the Plantation Filet Mignon topped with blue cheese and this time mashed potatoes sounded like the perfect side. This is a spot that we enjoy dining at the bar as the bartenders are fun to talk with as are those who are also dining there. The weather was just perfect and there was music outside on the gorgeous patio with the very cool new bar, so there were a lot of people out there having a great time too. 😁

I am so happy that I finally made it to Johnny Manhattan's in Hubertus. So many people recommended I get here, so when I was talking with our longtime friend and fellow Supper Club Chaser, Zenija about getting together to discuss lots of things happening with us and to ask her if she wants to work with us on some of those things, Zenija recommended that we meet at Johnny Manhattan’s. I’m so glad she did. This lovely establishment is absolutely gorgeous inside. After a couple of fabulous cocktails, we moved to our table which was in our own little super cool private room that had doors that slide shut. The privacy was perfect as we were discussing some fun things happening that Zenija is interested in helping us let everyone know about. 😳 I saw that they serve a Caviar Bump which is unique to most Supper Clubs we’ve been to, so I had to try it. It is very tasty, but it is truly a bump, so it’s nothing that can be shared. The Fried Deviled Eggs, on the other hand, can be shared and were some of the tastiest preparation that I’ve ever eaten. The Baked Five Onion Soup was also one of the tastiest 😋 I’ve ever eaten, as were the Pork Chops both broiled and breaded. Those three items and maybe a Caviar Bump could be my last meal and I would be forever satisfied. The Johnny’s Famous Fried Chicken is excellent as was Zenija’s Braciole from the Specials Menu as she knows that if we work together and enjoy supper together, I get to try her entree. 😏 Her husband was so quick in finishing his Sicilian Steak Special that I blinked and it was gone so I didn’t get to ask for a bite, but it looked excellent. Both couples finished with a brownie dessert that is served with bacon. I don’t have to tell you that it was yummy as anything sweet served with bacon is yummy. 😁

I offered to step behind the bar at Siegfried’s Supper Club in Teutopolis, IL to show the owner how to make a Wisconsin Old Fashioned Sweet. I prefer Press which uses half Sprite and half Club Soda as the mixer, but otherwise this is how I like to make my Old Fashioned. Some people and establishments like to muddle the fruit and that works for me too. In this video, they couldn’t find any Brandy which would be my favorite way to drink my Old Fashioned, but what I created tasted fantastic with Crown Blackberry. Please tell me your favorite way to enjoy an Old Fashioned. 😁

It’s a rare occasion that we visit a Supper Club two times in four days, but we ended up at a very new and gorgeous Supper Club called Siegfried’s Supper Club as we passed through Teutopolis, IL traveling out of town and then on our way back to Wisconsin. As we were on the road far away from Siegfried’s already, we were talking about how especially fabulous the filet that comes from a local butcher was 😋, and I said that I wanted to go back and get a filet again, but otherwise try some different menu items. As if it was meant to be, I received a text from the owner that said, “(The Other Chaser) Michelle left her credit card here!” 🙄 Under normal circumstances, I might have been upset, but instead I texted back, “Nice! We were just taking about dining again! We’ll see you in a few days!” 😎

We enjoyed cocktails at the bar both times before heading to a table in the dining room, but it was the second time that I got a chance to show the owner how to make a Wisconsin Old Fashioned, so if you’re traveling and you want a Wisconsin Old Fashioned or you are a local and want to try a Wisconsin Old Fashioned, ask her to make you one as she has the recipe. 😏 She had to go in the back to get a bottle of Martell Cognac, the only brandy she has…so far. Because it would end up a book if I told you all that we ate, I’m going to ask The Other Chaser to label the photos, so check out the photos with what we ate both times. I will say that I highly recommend the prime filet or the prime ribeye for your main course, both were very tasty and reasonable for high quality steaks. The baked potato was my favorite of the two potato choices. I recommend the very interesting and delicious prosciutto wrapped broccolini and the fried Brussels sprouts for sides, and I would start with the yummy baked brie or the shrimp cocktail or both appetizers. I would also recommend the carrot cake for dessert, take it to go like we did, or eat it there, and then maybe take one to go too. 😁

Last time we visited my Mom who doesn’t get out to supper ever, we brought her some of our leftovers from a couple of Supper Clubs we had recently visited. She enjoyed it but she said, “You know what I really want is some of that Baked French Onion Soup I always see you eating!” We know that Big Foot Inn in Illinois just a short walk from the Wisconsin border has excellent Baked French Onion Soup, so we turned my Mom’s request into a fabulous supper. I want to especially thank the young cook who took the time to write the recipe for my Mom as he meticulously kept all the ingredients separated in separate bags and containers so that her experience would be as close to being at the Supper Club as possible. 👍

I love that Big Foot serves a relish tray and cheese spread. I always have to get some cheese spread before The Other Chaser gets a hold of it because if I wait too long, the container the cheese spread comes in looks like it just came out of the dishwasher. 🙄 We, of course, had to sample the very tasty Baked French Onion Soup, and not my Mom’s, and we found that we really loved the Sausage and Peppers last time we were here so we got that too. The Other Chaser talked about how she was going to get her favorite Strawberry Pecan Salad with grilled chicken and ranch dressing about a dozen times on the way over, and I absolutely loved 🥰 the Braised Short Ribs with mashed potatoes and gravy and veggies. Before you judge me on the amount of food we ordered, we brought the leftovers to my Mom’s house for all of us to enjoy, and I know you’re wondering what my Mom thought of the Baked French Onion Soup. She was very happy with it. 😁
