I said to The Other Chaser that I needed to get to a Supper Club as we were approaching the border after being on another long road trip. We had such a fabulous time the last time we went to The Village Supper Club Delavan not long ago and just got a few things from their now excellent Bar Bites menu, so while she was looking it up I said that if we couldn't get a reservation, we could just do that again. Although it was Friday, we were able to get a reservation. 👍
It was a bittersweet moment getting back to Wisconsin. The bitter part is that it's going to take me a few days, or more like a few months, to get used to the cold 🥶. It didn't help that I was wearing a Tommy Bahama shirt with a thin Spring jacket, and maybe the thinnest pants I own. I think I looked down a few times as I walked in because I couldn't tell if I had pants on, it was so flippin' cold. 😳 It was my fault, I know, because what should I expect in January, but I didn't want to haul a bunch of Winter clothes with us. People were walking in with full length fur coats on probably commenting to each other that I was likely going to end up catching pneumonia. 🤧 The sweet part was heading straight in to get an old fashioned, OK, three old fashioneds, don't judge me, I've been craving a Wisconsin old fashioned since we left the state. We knew we loved 😍 it last time, so we started with the Burrata at the bar. The fresh bread is fabulous here, and we asked if we could get the bread with the burrata. The combination is truly spectacular. 😋
I had such a taste for red meat, so I went with the yummy filet that is served with boursin potatoes, and The Other Chaser wanted to try the Cod Fish Fry since it was Friday which was tasty too. I really enjoyed the clam chowder as my filet came with soup or salad. The Deal in The Wisconsin Supper Club Dining Destinations II guide is you get a free homemade dessert if you purchase two entrees. The best part is that they don't stamp your guide, so you can take advantage of this deal every time you visit. 😁
