For residents in need of a cool place to stay out of the heat, the following air conditioned locations will be open to the public on Wednesday:
Lake Mills City Hall Community Center – 200 Water St. – 8:00am-4:30pm
L.D. Fargo Public Library – 120 E. Madison St. – 9:00am-8:00pm

The National Weather Service has issued the following weather alert: ..HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 8 PM CDT WEDNESDAY...
WHAT...Heat index values up to 105 expected.
WHERE...Portions of east central, south central, and southeast Wisconsin.
WHEN...From 11 AM to 8 PM CDT Wednesday.
IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
