🔥 Local History Comes Alive! 🔥

Monmouth County author Rick Geffken has released his newest book, “New Jersey’s Revolutionary Rivalry: The Untold Story of Colonel Tye and Captain Huddy.” It dives into one of the most dramatic and overlooked stories of the Revolutionary War — a fierce local feud that rocked Sandy Hook and the Jersey Shore.

Geffken, who’s been exploring our area’s past for decades, says he hopes readers realize how much history happened right here at home. 🇺🇸

🚧 Brick Township Rolling Ahead with Road, Park & Safety Improvements! 🚧

Brick officials announced a wave of infrastructure upgrades at a recent Township Council meeting — from resurfacing projects in the Swan Point and Cherry Quay neighborhoods to a new microsurfacing project in Laurelton Gardens. 🛣️

🌳 A $405,000 NJDEP Green Acres grant will help upgrade the Windward Beach Playground, and a $290,827 CDBG grant will continue to fund home repairs for low-income seniors and local nonprofit programs.

🚑 The township also approved the purchase of a new Dodge ambulance funded through national opioid settlement dollars, and 136 body-worn cameras for police officers — continuing Brick’s focus on safety and accountability.

💬 “This is committing us to performing the project,” said Council President Derrick Ambrosino.

🌪️ Thirteen years after Superstorm Sandy changed life at the Jersey Shore forever, U.S. Senator Andy Kim says the lessons of that storm must still guide how America responds to disasters. 💬

🌊In an exclusive video shared with Jersey Shore Online, Kim reflects on the devastation, recovery, and resilience that followed — and calls for a stronger, better-funded FEMA to meet today’s growing climate challenges.

“FEMA is vital, though not without its imperfections,” Kim said. “We need a reformed FEMA that works for the people.”
