Well, this weekend wasn’t the worst, but definitely wasn’t the best either. Caught them early tossing around a bone-colored Spook, then the sun came up and it got tough. Went to run a pattern I did well with in practice, but the fish just weren’t there. So I scrambled back to my first spot, just to sort through a bunch of d***s and lose two really good ones that could’ve changed things around.

It is what it is. Got some points going into the last regular-season tournament on Pomme, and hopefully we can squeak into the Top 20. Been riding the line all season. 🎣🎣🎣

Stop #4 at Stockton was a wet and wild one, with storms rolling in and out all day. Despite the weather, the fish were still chewing.

I caught a solid number of fish, but I just couldn’t put together the bigger bites I needed. After the way the last few months have gone, I’ll take it and try keep building momentum coming into the back half of the season.

Now it’s time to gear up for Truman Lake—another shot at a lake that’s had my number every time I’ve been there. Here’s to hoping it treats me a little better this time around. 🎣
