"I Searched for God and Found only Myself. I Searched for Myself and only Found God." ~ Rumi

Rumi's words suggest that the search for God and the search for oneself are ultimately one and the same. The traditional understanding of seeking God often implies a quest for an external, separate entity. However, Rumi's poem subverts this notion by revealing that the true nature of God is not something external, but rather the innermost essence of our own being.

In this sense, the search for God becomes a search for one's own true nature, and the discovery of God is, in fact, the discovery of oneself. This realization is not a intellectual understanding, but a direct experience of the unity and interconnectedness of all existence. The boundaries between the self and the divine dissolve, and the individual is reunited with their own essence.

Rumi's poem is an invitation to let go of our egoic identifications and seek the truth within. It is a reminder that the search for God is not a distant journey, but a inward exploration that ultimately leads to the realization of our own divine nature.

What do you think is the significance of Rumi's poem, and how can it be applied in our daily lives to cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness and connection with the divine?
