Go Big or Go Home Times TWO! MQBM makes a lot of large quilts (full-king size), but his client ordered TWO queen size traditional quilts with friendship star sashing filled with Navy shirts, childhood shirts, and so much more! Each quilt measures 90” by 108” long. Wow!!!! A ton of labor involved but the end result is two stunning quilts for this Navy family. June has been a month filled with Memory Bears, Pillows, and Hearts. Shown below is a Boy Scout bear made with a Scout uniform and 7 patches. The 18 hearts were made from 2 bridal gowns, one gown from the 1950’s the other from the 1970’s! Truly amazing to work with such special items! Learn more here:

On this Memorial Day we honor and mourn U.S. military personnel. It's a day for reflection, remembrance, and acknowledging the sacrifices made by these individuals and their families. MQBM has made many military quilts and bears. These stand out today. They were made in honor of Sergeant Paul A Dengler “Sarge”, a Vietnam Veteran, a Bronze Star recipient, and a loving father. Shown here is one of my favorite grad quilts of this season. It is a traditional style large lap quilt made with block sashing, It is filled with hockey jerseys for a lucky graduate.
