Something new is coming to one of Austin’s most iconic spots. 🦇

Beginning August 26, visitors at the Congress Avenue Bridge bat-viewing area will be able to experience Bat City, a new interactive educational experience designed to make Austin’s famous nightly bat flights even more interesting.

The experience will include new interpretive signage and QR codes that connect visitors to videos, interactive activities, bat facts and bilingual digital content, giving locals and visitors a chance to learn more about the massive colony that calls the bridge home.

It’s a new addition to a very Austin tradition, and just another reason to catch a sunset at the bridge before summer ends.

Would you check out Bat City?

The Gravity of Kindness: A Story That Changes Your Perspective

Space has always inspired us to see our world from a new perspective. But what if that same perspective could help us better see one another?

The Gravity of Kindness, a powerful new short film from the Best Day Ever Foundation, shares the true stories of Austinites and people across the country whose lives are transformed by unexpected acts of kindness. Meet an Austin family fighting to save their beloved restaurant, an 11-year-old girl inspired by the kindness she received to make a difference in the lives of others, and individuals overcoming extraordinary personal challenges with the support of their communities.

Narrated by Hall of Fame NASA astronaut Joe Tanner and directed by Rhett Brennan of Sunday Studios, this heartfelt and uplifting film explores the extraordinary impact of choosing compassion. As lives intersect in unexpected ways, assumptions are challenged, perspectives shift, and strangers discover they are far less alone than they ever imagined.

Following each screening, guests are invited to a live panel discussion and Q&A with Director Rhett Brennan, Best Day Ever Foundation Founder and CEO Matt Worthington, and several of the individuals whose inspiring stories are featured in the film.

Two premiere screenings will be offered at 6:05 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. General Admission and VIP tickets are available now at thebestdayever.org/premiere.
