This passion of mine started as a personal one. In 2012 I became a widow. I never forget the day my husband of 33 years passed away. At first, I felt numb. As if the world stopped. I remember leaving the hospital and feeling as if a part of me had died.
A few months later, I remember lying in my bed, and I felt alone. I have family and friends that were supportive; however, at the end of the day, it was just my dogs and me. The thought went through my mind I was no longer a Mrs. I was now a Ms. I was no longer a plus one to events now I was just One... It was scary. I thought to myself, I am getting older, who is going want me. There is a lot of competition out there. I bet all the good guys were spoken for. Even though I was getting older, I still wanted to find love again. I didn't know what I was going to do. I was depressed.
After a couple of years went by, I decided to get back into the dating world. I didn't know where to start. I thought if I became more social went out to more events that would allow me to meet someone. Well, that did not quite work. I went to some matchmakers thinking that would help me find someone. I paid a lot of money, but you know what boy was I ever disappointed in their pick of someone for me.
So one day, my friend Rita was visiting me from Seattle, and she asked me how I was doing with dating. I looked and said there wasn't anything going on in my life. Sure I met some men but no one that really knocked off my socks. She then told me that I should look at online dating. I told her I was afraid. She then said, well, if you were looking for a job, what would you do. I told her I would put together my resume, launch that on an employment site. She then said, why would you put your resume on an employment site. I said I don't want to limit myself, and on a website gives me a better opportunity to finding a job. That when the lightbulb moment came on, and I did launch myself on a couple of dating apps.
Let me tell you it was not easy, every mistake you could think of I made. I had lots of first dates. I would come home at night crying because the men I were meeting didn't look like their pictures; they were not who they said they were on their profile, and some of them were just plain boring. Or I meet someone who thinks they were tremendous and heard nothing. I would receive a message, you are really a sweet gal, but too old. Talk about my ego being crushed.
Now I am a licensed minister in Las Vegas, Nevada. For the past eleven years, I have married over 3000 couples. These couples come from all over the world, all ages, and they are in love. One commonality they all had was when they met each other, they were ready to find love. A vast majority of the couples I married met online, some at work, others through friends, and networking events. Again they made up their mind that they wanted to find someone, and they did!
So looked around for some guidance. My friends were married and really had not advice. My children, well, I really did not want my children to give me information. I then listened to YouTube videos, and every coach was young. I realized that there was a need for coaches in the dating world that were my age, who were experienced with people over 45 years of age. Many people are widows, widower, divorced, and want to find love again. But they just don't know where to start and what to do. Many people, just like me, have been out of the dating world for a while. Although dating has not changed, the platforms to meet people to date have changed. They continue changing.
Because of my experience, I then put together a step by step process of find love again. I developed various programs to help people get back into the dating world. I work with men and women that are looking to find love still. They feel lonely, insecure, and don't know what to do. I give them the tools, confidence, and roadmap to help them find love. I want my long journey to be your shortcut. I want to be your advisor. To help you when you are getting ready for the first date, or not sure if someone you have chosen is one. To be there when you need someone that you can speak to objectively. I want to help you go from just one to a plus one.
