Hey, Happy Thursday, If you happen to be in Southern California this weekend, I will be hanging out in Carlsbad at San Diego Comic Fest, and chatting about Artists. I am excited to be on 2 panels, on Saturday at 5pm talking about and showing photos from my Artist Within photo project, and then again on Sunday at 10am I will join EC comics experts Thommy and Josh Burns and a few other special guests talking about 100 years of illustrator and Cartoonist Jack Davis, try and stop by and say hello if you can, it's going to be big fun,

Starting to get pretty excited about San Diego Comic Fest in just about 2 weeks, workin' hard on my slide show presentation, digging out some outtakes that will be new to most, Authors and Artists, lots of fun stories! My presentation is on Saturday October 26th at 5pm, looking
forward to seeing everyone!

Besides getting to be a Special guest at San Diego Comic Fest this year, I am likewise honored to have been asked to sit on the Jack Davis remembrance panel along with EC experts Thommy Burns and Josh Burns discussing Jack Davis, and trying not to embarrass myself, lol! I will however bring some photos from our afternoon hanging out on the dock with Jack and "The do nothing club" (IYKYK) photographed by my friend Leonard Peterson, along with some outtakes from the shoot in Jack's studio! It's gonna be fun! The panel will be on Sunday October 27th at 10am, be there!

Good Morning! Happy Friday!
Didn’t want to let the day go by without wishing a very Happy 87th Birthday to Sergio Aragones, yep, known as the "Worlds Fastest Cartoonist", and certainly one of the funniest. Sergio is of course an Amazing Artist and Writer best known for his contributions to Mad magazine and for creating the comic book Groo the Wanderer.
Sergio’s first contribution to Mad Magazine, “A Mad Look at the U.S. Space Effort” appeared in January of 1963, as of the 500th issue in 2009, Aragonés' work had appeared in 424 issues of Mad, "They told me, 'Make Mad your home,'" said Aragonés, "and I took it literally."
The Comics Journal has described Sergio as "one of the most prolific and brilliant cartoonists of his generation"
Besides being a professional cartoonist, "Sergio has appeared as an actor-performer on television ( Laugh-In and Speak Up, America) and motion pictures (in, among others, Norman, Is That You? and To Kill A Stranger). His artwork has appeared on hundreds of advertisements and editorial features, and his animation has been featured on numerous TV shows, including The Shirley MacLaine Special, The Cher Special, The Half-Hour Comedy Hour and Dick Clark’s TV Bloopers and Practical Jokes."-Sergio Aragones's website
Sergio was also one of the first three artists I had the honor of photographing when I started my book project, The Artist Within"
