happy (1 day late) national women’s day 💕💕💕

I’ve Been Thinking was founded by and has always been hosted by ME- Alanna Grayce. I was raised by strong women- women who made choices that weren’t always the most popular for women to make (especially in conservative southeastern kentucky), but were the best for them. Women who spoke up and spoke out. Women who taught, who encouraged, who lead, who raised up those around them. Women who still do.

I was then graced with the opportunity to find more women like that throughout my life- from the women i have come to call my best friends and sisters, to the women who have educated me and given me opportunities along the way.

I remember when i was a very little girl, and a kid at school called me a feminist as an insult (LOL). I asked my dad what a feminist was after school- i still remember sitting in the car outside of the Knox county public library, in the parking lot- and he told me. I said “ok, well then I’m definitely a feminist???”

I’ve Been Thinking is about empowerment and education, and that’s all I’ve ever wanted it to be about. As our media network says- we are here to “ignite conversation”.

So all of that was a long and rambling way to say- happy international women’s day to every woman out there who has fought for our ability to speak up and speak out, who has made this world a little safer for women like us, and to every woman who has ever existed- because for many of us, our simple existence is a form of resistance.

Now with all of that in mind- there was supposed to be a new episode yesterday. I’ve been feeling a little burnt out and I’ve been scrambling to do anything and producer Tyler has been ill. So, we are taking a very very short break to get our s**t together and continue bringing you only the very best in guests and content. I never want you to feel like we are just throwing things out. We create and curate with intention and love here at IBT- so give us a smudges of patience and we will be back post haste!!!
