A 2023 study published in The Journals of Gerontology found that older adults who experience higher levels of daily happiness show significantly slower cognitive decline, and individuals with strong emotional well-being demonstrate a lower risk of developing dementia. Clients with Dementia also show that happiness and joy every day improve mood and social engagement. Positive mood, meaningful activities, and supportive relationships literally help protect the brain.
