Dr. Alain Frère is a celebrated French figure, known for his profound impact on the global circus community. He was a close collaborator of Prince Rainier III in founding the prestigious Festival International du Cirque de Monte-Carlo in 1974, which became one of the most renowned circus festivals in the world. Dr. Frère’s passion for the circus, alongside his vast private collection of circus memorabilia, has cemented his legacy as a guardian of circus heritage. His expertise and dedication have shaped the landscape of modern circus arts, making him an invaluable addition to our festival. Dr. Alain Frère: “You can be the greatest athlete and Olympic champion, but not an artist”.
