The 4-Month Transformation vs. The 6-Year Lifestyle
A transformation is great, but maintenance is where the real work happens. 💯
A lot of people ask me about the initial 4 months where I completely changed my body—dropping from 220 lbs to 180 lbs. But what many don't realize is that I did that over 6 years ago, and I have maintained it ever since.
Getting the weight off takes intensity. Keeping it off for over half a decade takes a sustainable blueprint.
Here is exactly how I built a lifestyle that lasted:
🏃♂️ The Blueprint That Started It All
When I was actively dropping the weight, I locked in a strict 6 days a week routine:
* The Cardio: 2 miles on the treadmill every training day (2.5 MPH at a 9% incline to burn fat while protecting muscle).
* The Rotation: Swapping every other day between Chest/Lats (Bench Press 3x10 @ 135 lbs / Lat Pulldowns 3x10 @ 90 lbs) and Arms/Lats (Curls 3x10 @ 40 lbs / Lat Pulldowns 3x10 @ 90 lbs).
* The Core & Lower Body: Hitting sit-ups, air squats, and leg lifts every single workout.
🥑 The Strict Fuel vs. The Weekend Balance
* Mon–Thu: Zero processed food, chips, soda, or juice. Sticking to clean lean beef, chicken, salmon, protein pancakes, and 8-10 bottles of water daily.
* Fri–Sun: Keeping it sustainable with cheat days—eating what I wanted, but keeping the portions small so I never ruined my hard work.
🔄 How I Evolved for Longevity (The 6-Year Shift)
Your routine has to change as your life and body change. To keep this going for 6+ years without burning out or hurting my joints, I made one crucial adjustment:
* The Extra Recovery Day: I dropped from 6 days a week down to 5 days a week.
* Why It Works: That extra day of rest gives my muscles and nervous system the recovery they need to stay strong, prevent injury, and keep showing up year after year.
If you are looking at my before-and-after photo, don't just look at the 4-month gap. Look at the 6 years of showing up after the camera turned off. Pick a routine you can live with, listen to your body, give yourself the recovery you need, and don't stop. Let’s get it! 🤜🤛
