Ok so its almost a New Year!
What are your resolutions going to be for 2016?

I'm sure a fair share of us are looking to shed a few pounds! So how do we know which program, diet, routine to choose?

There are so many options out there and everyone claims to be the best.

Well in my many years of life on this planet i have learned a few things. One of them is if its to good to be true then i probably should stay away from it. Save my money and my time.

Another thing i have learned is that there are no shortcuts when it comes to being healthy. Sure we can get surgery and suck out the fat with lipo. We can also take a pill that puts our heart rate through the roof and pray we dont have a heart attack. Oh and don't forget you can just stop eating all together. Who needs food anyway! lol

Lets be real though. These things are only band aides on the real problem. It really comes down to changing your Diet and incorporating some kind of exercise. I know we don't want to hear this and trust me i have tried to get around it myself.

Really its not as hard as we think. You dont have to stop eating things we enjoy. We just have to find a way to prepare them that is a bit healthier. Find alternatives that work for you. Its really just switching your mindset to be open to alternatives. With our friend Google and Pinterest you can find a healthy way to cook things you love. Once i opened my mind the rest was easy. Its actually fun to try new things.

Ok now lets address exercising. Look i'm not the type of person that likes to go to the gym and stare at the wall or other members while i'm working out. I like to do things i enjoy or try things that interest me. I live near the beach so tried paddle boarding. It actually turned out to be a full body workout. The best part is i had no idea i was working out because it was so much fun. So my advice is to find something you enjoy and it wont feel so much like work.

So for 2016 you should have a heart to heart with yourself and open your mind to new things. You dont have to starve yourself and be miserable to achieve your 2016 resolutions. Just change the way you look at these challenges. It doesnt take much to change your lifestyle in a healthier direction. Also do it at your own pace. Change 1 meal a week or try 1 new activity a week. Eventually you will find things you truly enjoy that doesn't feel like work and sacrifice.You will be much happier and healthier if you take this approach.

"Beauty Is in the EYE of the Beholder"
I'm sure you have heard this term before. I know i have heard it many times in my life. So how true is it?

Lets talk about it. What determines beauty in someone's eyes?

Lets start with how different our eyes are to each other. No ones eyes are the same. They are as individual as finger prints. Eyes come in so many shapes and sizes.The top 4 colors would have to be Blue, Brown, Green, and Hazel. Then there are many variations of tints and hue.

It only makes sense that if our eyes are so diverse that we see things differently. Your eyes tell so much about you. You can make eye contact from across the room and feel a connection with out even saying a word.

As diverse as everyone's eyes are, so are the way we see things. We can all look at the same painting and have a different perspective on it. We all also have different preferences that we are drawn to as well. I may look at a guy and see a nice butt and cute smile. While my girlfriend might only notice his hair and face. Although i'm sure she would notice his butt shortly there after, lol.

This diversity is what makes us all unique and draws us to characteristics in another person. I would say our eyes are the very first step in the process of attraction.

So from my experience i would say that the meaning behind "Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder" is a good thing. Otherwise we would all be fighting over the same men or women. Life would be pretty boring in my opinion. It also makes the opportunity to find your better half that much more realistic no matter how the world sees you or them.

So when you start your day today remember you are beautiful in so many ways to so many people.

How does posture affect the way people view you? Something many of us don't attribute to beauty is our posture!

Think about it... How often do you see Actors and Models slouching as they walk down the red carpet or the runway? What about when you look in the mirror? I'm sure you straighten up your posture to get the best view of yourself. Not to mention pictures! No one looks good slouching in personal or business pics.

If your anything like me then you really don't associate posture with beauty. As i'm writing this on my laptop i am correcting my posture, lol.

Posture just is not on my mind as much as it should be. Good posture also shows confidence. Confidence is attractive!

Bad posture is not only unattractive but its also bad for our health. It can cause us discomfort and as we age the problems become more serious including neck and spinal injuries.

So how can we help our posture? Walk around with a pile of books on our head? As entertaining as that would be for me to see people running around town balancing books on their head all day...It wouldn't be right for me to tell you this is the solution. So to spare the world from humiliation i decided to suggest core training!

Strengthening your core can have huge benefits.1 benefit being better posture.

So next time you are at the gym spend a little extra time on working on your core. Muscle building and cardio are a great way to stay in shape but core training has way more health benefits. Yoga is great way to strengthen your core. Core training will Lead to a Stronger, Better, and more Confident You!

9 things you need to stop doing to your skin ASAP!

1. Washing with harsh cleaners! In theory you may think exfoliators and cleansers are a good idea. In reality they strip your skin of all the good oils and diminish the natural protective barrier.

2. Skimping on sleep. Getting good sleep has many benefits but did you know it also has a great effect on our skin? Lack of sleep can be stressful and cause our skin to generate free radicals.

3.Using cotton pillow cases. Believe it or not pressing your face on into a pillow for 8 hrs a day can cause trauma to your face. Including permanent creases as collagen breaks down. Silk is a much better alternative.

4.Going to bed with your make up on. Now we all know this cant be good. This clogs oils glands and impacts make up into your pores. this is a major cause of acne for women over 30.

5. Speaking of acne. Popping pimples is also not good for your skin. A little trick your dermatologist may recommend... apply downward pressure. Most people squeeze it from the sides and this causes the infection to go deeper. This can permanently enlarge pores.

With each Passing birthday our skin starts to look and feeling so different. Wrinkles appear out of no where it seems like. Luckily we have some kind of help out there to slow the process. We can never stop the process but we can slow it down!
This is a good example of what our skin goes through as we age from our 20's, 30's and 40's.

Our 20's we have great collagen support that keeps your skin supple and gives it that healthy look. For women in their 20's its all rainbows and roses when it comes to their looks. Little do they know that how they take care of their skin now will determine the damage that they have to deal with the rest of their lives.

Then our 30's hit and we have to balance out our uneven skin tones. We also have to deal with broken blood vessels and sun spots. Then we see the effects of our twenties and lines and crows feet begin to appear. You realize this when your not getting carded at the bar anymore.

Here come the 40's and reality starts to hit us that we can not avoid this aging process. You probably notice your skin is drier and that leads to more pronounced lines and wrinkles. You start to panic and look at botox and other solutions. You are hydrating your face with anything you can get your hands on.

It continues into your 50's and beyond. Fortunately there are many ways to avoid botox and other invasive solutions. We wont mention them here as there are so many of them. With a little research you can find the right one for your skin tone.
