If you rely on SNAP benefits the government shutdown could put your food assistance at risk. About 500,000 Nevadans, or 15.5% of the state, depend on these benefits, which total around 90 million dollars per month.
If your benefits were approved through Oct. 30, 2025 you should still receive them. Applications are still being accepted but new benefits may not be available until the shutdown ends. Stay updated with the Nevada Department of Human Services and Division of Social Services.
