On Friday, white rapper Jack Harlow dropped a semi-surprise album he’d announced just two days earlier, and the reviews are… mixed. Some are saying Jackman. (not a typo) is his best work yet. Others say the album left them with more questions than answers. It’s certainly a confusing shift in tone from his previous nonchalant musical offerings—as Vulture put it, “The once h***y white boy of the moment is now rapping about racism, s*xual assault, family, and fame.” Directed by Eliel Ford, Harlow is back in his hometown of Louisville as he visits schools, and a cookout. The Atlanta rapper digs into the vault and unleashes his long-awaited track “Go Hard.” He teased the song three years ago, but it was never available in full until now. If we are giving points to artists for reinventing themselves or being versatile, we have to applaud 6ix9ine’s ability to morph from a gangsta rapper to a full-blown Latin crooner. Since the beginning of the year, the “FEFE” creator has dropped nothing but Spanish-speaking music, leading me to question where his heart lies when it comes to genres. Juss Russ, who claims to have been responsible for the discovery of Bryson Tiller by Drake on SoundCloud is also interestingly enough — the owner of a highly reputable digital music marketing company called Juss Russ Digital Marketing. Juss Russ has been helping artists get discovered online since 2015 which also looks like the same time the business was registered, which happens to be right around the time of the discovery of Bryson Tiller by . There are many connections for Juss Russ to Kentucky and Louisville specifically. Local artists and music fans in the city all say they initially heard of because of Juss Russ and a song they did together that made it on local radio before Bryson Tiller blew up.

There are even interviews online where Bryson Tiller mysteriously mentions a friend who helped him who did music but no longer does music but still has connections to people in the industry. The song “Give It To Me”, makes it all worth the wait.
