Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros Adhanom, has urged the Ethiopian federal government and regional Authorities to end armed conflict and start โ€œpursuing real political solutions.โ€

In his open message on X to the Ethiopian authorities, Dr. Tedros underscored that Ethiopia โ€œneeds no more war.โ€

โ€œFor three years, armed conflict in Amhara has cost countless lives. Oromia continues to bleed. Tigray teeters back into open fighting, Afar has been drawn in, and Benishangul-Gumuz remains gripped by violence too. Enough. I urge the federal government and all regional leaders to choose dialogue over guns, and to pursue real political solutions,โ€ he wrote.
