This understanding, alongside the concept of generational wealth versus curses, shifted my entire worldview on community and family dynamics. It's not a curse if we haven't seen it, it's a pattern we can change.

We often idealize biblical figures like David, but he wasn't perfect. He made mistakes, yet he's called a man after God's own heart. Why? Because he knew how to get up, dust himself off, repent, and get back on track. God's love isn't conditional on your perfection; it's an invitation to come as you are. Like stepping into a shower to get clean, you go to Jesus to be made whole. You don't get clean before the shower; you get clean in it. And even when you step out and get dirty again, the shower is always there.
