Apple brought the fingerprint sensor back for the new iPhone Duo, placing it in the side button.

And honestly? On a foldable, that makes a lot of sense.

This tiny iPhone Duo feature might be one of my favorites. 👀

Partially fold the Duo, set it down and it basically becomes its own little StandBy display.

Clock. Notifications. Information at a glance.

And this is something I kept noticing throughout Apple's event:

Apple keeps making the devices we already own replace other little gadgets.

My phone can be my bedside display. My Watch can handle AI recording and recaps. My phone unfolds into a mini tablet.

THAT ecosystem story is way more interesting to me than another spec bump.

My Biggest iPhone Duo Red Flag 🚩

Description:
There's one thing Apple said about the iPhone Duo that immediately reminded me of early Android foldables.

I'm excited to see what developers build for it too… but how many apps will actually take advantage of that folding display at launch?

At $1,999, that's something I'd want to know before buying.

At what point do we stop calling the iPhone “just a phone camera?” 🎥

Variable aperture.
Manual shutter.
White balance.
Histogram.
Focus controls.
4K video.
Apple Log.

And now Apple is giving creators even MORE control over the image.

I already use iPhone footage in real production workflows. The iPhone 18 Pro Max is getting closer to being a legitimate production tool that also happens to make phone calls.

THIS is one of my favorite iPhone 18 Pro upgrades.

Variable aperture. Manual white balance. Shutter controls. Histogram. Focus controls.

And Apple didn't stop at photography — we're getting expanded manual control for VIDEO too.

As a photographer and videographer, this is the kind of iPhone upgrade I want.

Okay… this was cheesy. 😂

But I actually thought it was pretty cool.

Seeing Apple symbolically pass the torch from Tim Cook to a new CEO made this event feel different before they even started announcing products.

Tim Cook has been the face of Apple events for so long that this really felt like the beginning of a new era.

What did you think of the transition?
