Nevada lawmakers wanted to remove mobsters from the state’s casinos in the 1960s to begin an era of corporate ownership so organized crime populated the first ‘Black Book.’

The Nye County Sheriff identified the machete-wielding man who was shot and killed by a deputy Wednesday morning in Amargosa Valley.

Troy Plascencia, 36, told a deputy, “You better shoot me, dog,” as he approached him with a machete, according to a video briefing released Saturday.

As Metro detectives investigated, they said a man between the ages of 25 and 35 who was wearing a black and white shirt, black pants and black shoes was seen walking through the south parking lot of Metro’s headquarters.

Metro said an employee noticed a fire along the west property wall outside the headquarters of the Metropolitan Police Department.

The Boyz II Men show has previously featured unbilled performers. Longtime friend and collaborator Kenny Babyface Edmonds joined a performance last August.
