They had nicknames like “Tony the Ant” and “Fat Herbie,” and they ran with a rough crowd. Nevada’s so-called “Black Book” originally consisted of names believed to be associated with organized crime across the United States.

Nevada lawmakers wanted to remove mobsters from the state’s casinos in the 1960s to begin an era of corporate ownership so organized crime populated the first ‘Black Book.’

As Metro detectives investigated, they said a man between the ages of 25 and 35 who was wearing a black and white shirt, black pants and black shoes was seen walking through the south parking lot of Metro’s headquarters.

Metro said an employee noticed a fire along the west property wall outside the headquarters of the Metropolitan Police Department.
