👀 Longtime no see! I have been taking a bit of an IG hiatus for my mental health, while my garden and I recharge! I’m pausing that hiatus to introduce you to the 1st dahlia bloom of the year…Crichton Honey!

She was the only one to not get pinched because she already had a bloom and I just couldn’t wait to see her!
Pinching is removing the top growth right above 4-ish sets of leaves. This encourages the plant to send out new shoots and produces more flowers with longer stems! The more you know 😉

The wagon stand will be at the edge of the driveway with $20 peony bouquets, $10 flowering chive bouquets, & lavender sachets!

I may be over reacting; I may not be. Spider mite infestation can devastate plants, especially dahlias. These were all tubers I saved from last year knowing I lost one likely to mites and fearful they’d return this year.
Welp, fear confirmed. I’m thankful my first box of brand new tubers just arrived today so I can hopefully learn how to take better precautions to prevent this happening again…
Until then, these puppies are headed straight to the trash as I decide how to respond…

💜I get excited when lavender drinks come back to stores! Tonight I I made my own lavender simple syrup from buds I harvested and froze last year! Tonight I added it to lemonade and tomorrow I’ll be adding it to my coffee in the morning and matcha in the afternoon!
