In a couple of days, people are going to start talking about resolutions...they'll want to lose weight, get to the gym, turn that side hustle into their full-time gig...but with your business, try something different. Create your vision for the year. Where do you want to be sitting on December 22, 2026? What conversations do you want to be having? Who is at the table with you? After you've figured all of that out, let's look at what it will take to get there. I like to work backwards...what step immediately preceeds the goal, and then I go from there until I have a step by step plan to achieve that vision. All I have to do is take one step at a time. The beauty of that is that even if I don't achieve the vision in the exact timeframe, I am still making progress toward the goal.

In a down economy with AI growing everyday, TRUST is king. Reviews are crucial, and you need to make sure you address the negative ones in a timely and appropriate manner. Reputation Management is of crucial importance right now.

Make sure your brand is firm. Stay on track. Ask yourself why people love your business and emphasize that in your marketing. BTW, the worst thing you can do in a down economy is to stop marketing...that's what a lot of small businesses do, and they don't survive it. Push through. You've got this!

Recently, I did one of those fall corn mazes. Usually, I enjoy these, but it started to rain while we were in the middle of it. That was not fun, and I wanted out. Being super short, I had no way to see above the stalks...but the trees at the exit/entrance were taller than the corn, so I used those to guide me in the right direction. I ended up back at the beginning (but at least I was out). Had I been able to get a bird's eye view, I likely would have been able to navigate the maze more quickly. Sometimes it just takes a different vantage point to get you unstuck.

When Client X got my call, she asked me how this happened. She had been trying to get that meeting for a few weeks with no response for the Business Contact. The reality is that Client X has my services for something entirely different...but I knew it was a good fit. She's my client. I want her to succeed. I didn't stop myself from setting the meeting just because I wasn't being paid for that particular service...I just kept working to help her. That's who I am and why I started SMART...(well, that and God closed every other door until I did). When you're my client, I am always working for you...even when you don't necessarily know it.

Year over year, they've continued to grow. I want to help your business do the same.
