🧶 crochet tip wednesday — have you heard of GoSadi?

Let me tell you about a platform I'm genuinely excited about — and it starts with meeting the woman behind it.

The night before Nash Yarn Fest I met Michele Costa at a tailgating event and I was immediately drawn to her. She's just good people — someone who saw a real gap in the crochet and knit world, went and learned how to fix it, and is building it herself, step by step. That night I went home and subscribed on the spot.

So what is GoSadi?

🧜‍♀️ the unboxing has begun — Twice Sheared Sheep Surprise Box Club

Y’all. MERMAID SUMMER. That’s the theme and I am completely here for it.

My Twice Sheared Sheep Surprise Box just arrived and we are doing a daily reveal all week in stories — one treasure at a time. But I had to come to the feed to officially kick this off because Day 1 already has me swooning.

Day 1: The most delicious sock yarn in a colorway called Be a Mermaid. I mean. COME ON. It’s perfect. The color, the name, the vibe — all of it.

Day 2: A chain row counter with the cutest little mermaid tail charm. Functional AND adorable. That’s my kind of tools. 🧶✨

Follow along in my stories all week as we see what else is hiding in this box. I have a feeling it only gets better from here.

🧶 so close I can taste it — Sea Breeze Cardigan update

The body is done. The sleeves are done. The buttons are picked out and perfect. All that's left is putting this thing together and I cannot wait.

I added a little extra length to the body because that's just who I am at this point — a long torso girlie who adds rows first and asks questions later. 😄

And can we talk about buttons for a second? I learned something on this one: don't pick your buttons until the sweater is finished. I know that sounds obvious but I used to try to plan them out ahead of time and it never felt quite right. Waiting until the fabric is in your hands — when you can actually hold buttons up against it and see how they look — makes all the difference. These ones were worth the wait.

🧶 crochet tip Wednesday — what is mosaic crochet?

If you've ever wanted to try colorwork but felt intimidated by it, mosaic crochet might just be your gateway technique.

Here's the simple version: mosaic crochet creates beautiful colorwork patterns but you only ever work with one color at a time. No carrying yarn (but you can to minimize those pesky ends), no complicated color changes mid-row. The pattern builds itself through a combination of worked stitches and skipped stitches that reveal the color below. It looks way more complicated than it is.

Not going to lie — my first octagon took me a hot minute to figure out. But once it clicked? Pretty straightforward. Just more time consuming than your average project, which honestly makes it perfect for something you pick up between other makes.

I'm currently using it on my FIESTA Mosaic Blanket — a 12-octagon blanket that is also a great stash buster. Four down, eight to go. 🙌

My honest advice: make sure you're confident in your basic stitches before you dive in. You want your brain free to focus on the technique itself, not fighting the stitches at the same time.

✨ finished object Monday — meet the Jasmine Eyelet Tee ✨

Y'all. This one came together so fast I almost didn't believe it. Start to finish in about 7-10 days and honestly? It was a joy the entire way.

I used Plymouth Worsted Merino Superwash in Periwinkle and this yarn is so soft — it drapes beautifully and feels amazing against your skin. Exactly what you want in a summer tee.

A few mods for my long torso: I added 6 chains to the initial chain for extra length, then added one additional row on each side of both main panels. Worked the extras in hdc so they blend right in. If you're between sizes or carrying any length in your torso, this is an easy fix.
