FAIRFAX, VA — A 23-year-old man from Fairfax County is facing burglary charges after a string of early-morning break-ins at local to***co and v**e shops in the City of Fairfax.

According to police, the first call came in around 4:37 a.m. on July 16 from To***co Hut on Fairfax Boulevard. Then on July 20 at just after midnight, officers responded to Smoke Source To***co and V**e on Main Street. A third incident occurred on July 23 around 7:21 a.m., again at To***co Hut.

In each case, the businesses were forcibly entered and merchandise was stolen. Detectives from the City of Fairfax’s Criminal Investigations Division quickly connected the three burglaries and identified a suspect. During the course of their investigation, they also learned of similar break-ins in neighboring Fairfax County.

Working with the Fairfax County Police Department, detectives obtained a search warrant and raided the suspect’s residence. Evidence collected there confirmed the suspect’s connection to the crimes.

On July 24, Fairfax County Police arrested David Elliot, 23, of Fairfax County. He’s been charged with three counts of burglary under Virginia Code 18.2-89 and was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He was later released on an unsecured bond.

City officials did not disclose what merchandise was taken or the estimated value of the losses, but they credited the swift collaboration between jurisdictions for helping to close the case.
